2 horrible teams (both with nothing to gain) starting 3rd string qb's in a Noreaster in January in Foxboro
game of the year
Home Fans and Road Fans a thing if beauty.

In 2 years, on average, only 35% of players on an NFL team will still be on that same team. It's only about half from 1 year to the next. How does a loss in 1 year have any negative effect with team building?
In this situation, with the Patriots likely changing the entire coaching staff why would losing this year have anything negative to do with anything next year?
Losing teams usually lose because of poor ownership, poor GM (resulting in poor players) and/or poor coaching.
The Patriots lost a ton of games before Parcells, did not seem to affect the team building under him at all. It actually got them Bledsoe and McGinest.

Losses in 1 year is not bad for team building, it gets you better draft position and a better chance at better players, it is actually better for team building.
Some guys are holding the team together right now. Players like Peppers and Barmore and Tavai, who will be here next year, are stepping up and taking leadership roles - and that's been missing in the confusion of a rebuild. Other players, like Mac Wilson, and maybe Reagor, are showing they belong.

If BB is here next year, he knows who buys in and who doesn't. If he's not here next year, anyone coming in has a new group of players to take the lead in the locker room, having fought through adversity.

The Patriots haven't laid down. Without brain-fart QB'ing (since Week 9 alone), Washington, Indy, Colts, Giants, and Chargers are all wins - including three losses in a row where they gave up 10 or less.

Think about that. This team, despite the many injuries, with half-decent QB play, could be finishing the season with 8-of-9 (even KC wasn't a blowout) and storming into the playoffs as a 10-win team. That's nuts. And that's only improving the last half of the season. They haven't mailed it in. They're playing hard.

I think that matters going forward. I think it matters on which free agents will want to come back (I was honestly surprised to see Bourne asking to come back yesterday). It matters on which players run that locker room next year when the last of the old guard, Slater, is probably gone. It matters on which, if any, Free Agents will want to play in New England.

I've watched Commanders' games, and all of the draft-pick rivals, the last few weeks. The only other bust team I'm watching that's playing hard and to the whistle, that's fighting to stay together in the midst of adversity, is the Bears (playing for Fields' job?).

Some team cultures have pride. Some don't. Those that do will be back in the hunt. Those that don't will be JESTers.

Great! Can we count on seeing you there? I want to witness someone booing both teams.

it's looking like snow for the entire game. should be fun to watch and will look really cool on tv. but I can imagine Krafty Bob is shaking in his shoes bc he's going to have to hire/put on extra staff for snow/ice removal. With a $15 (no lie) get in price Krafty is looking at about probably 25k-35k fannies in the seats if he's lucky.
the Mets are talking about a flash freeze during the game so fans could be exciting onto a skating rink.
at any rate, GO PATS

Just as a reminder in 93 we 1-11 and had the first pick in the draft. We won several games down the stretch and fell to 4 where we took Willie Mac. The following season we were in the playoffs.

The year before had something similar we could have had Leaf instead of Drew so good thing we didn't win one year but the following year some winning was a good thing.

Hope we haven’t already seen Henry’s last game as a Patriot.

Thoughts:

We have beaten these fools 15 times in a row, it may/may not be Belichick's last game as the coach of the NEP, it most likely is ace Matt Slater's final game as a Patriot, and we are expecting snow for this one.

This game is very franchise altering, IMO. On one hand, I love pounding down the Jete...on the other hand...I want to lock in at least Marv Harrison Jr....

Jets openly trying to tank.
They are actively trying to lose. Let Cook go for nothing and supposedly Wilson is still in concussion protocol.
yeah right. No one can out tank the Jets.

Bill- no one gives a crap out this game except for you
We can do better. Mr. JamesFerentz at LG. Quinnen Williams falling forward will win over 50 percent

Bill Belichick pulling out all the stops and beating his hated Jets a record 16th time preventing us from being in position for pick 2 or 3 before he moves on is pure Belichickian.

Why would these players that are getting turned over lose for you?
Adding loss into your realm of acceptable practices is dangerous. Lose for picks or lose for money from an outside source. Individually, which is better?

Oh no, what will we ever do without Thornton's sub 100 receiving yards for the season? There are multiple receivers in the league who have produced more in 1 game than Thornton has in all of 2023. It feels like he went to the N'Keal Harry school of receivers! Oh yeah BB picked him, so yes he did!

Commanders might be playing hard for Ron Rivera who apparently expects to be fired. Could the Pats take advantage to sneak up to #2 overall with a Washington W?

Probably not but we’ll see.

This is looking like another 3-pass Belichick special.

Don’t we need a Bal win to get to number 2?

we're obviously going to win, the jets are **** and bill won't want to lose to them. goodbye top 3 pick.

We ain't winning without Hunter Henry pick secured.
