Unless Kraft sees the road to a top QB is letting Mac Fail.
Then he could be saying he’s our guy.

It should be clear to everyone at this stage that whoever plays quarterback for New England is going to struggle, probably in equal measure.

Agree I can’t see us winning another game .
Honestly it’s what I want but looking at paper you tell em which game you would wager good money on the Pats?

Agreed the whole thing is a mess, but it was reported before the trade deadline that offers for Mac would be entertained. Like Punky McMilfson he remains a commodity by virtue of where he was drafted, though his stock has plummeted. RKK's history as an avowed hands-off owner who has expressed trust in BB running the football operation is clear. I have a hard time buying the notion he's suddenly swooping in to meddle, especially when this team's troubles extend far beyond the quarterback position.
I appreciate you talking me off the ledge.

News flash Stop the presses nothing to see here. BOB any idiot know you need atleast one maybe Two Elite players to be effective in Todays NFL on Offense. The current New England Patriots have Zero ask BOB if he remembers Hopkins and Watson in Houston. You are a freaking BB yess man who I hope leaves with Him. How the hell did he even believe he could win with that **** show on Offense.

Disagree. Corky has obvious flaws. It’s not clear that a different QB without those flaws would have the same struggles. Zappe is flawed too. Thats why id hoped to see Grier get his chance. But any street QB would have a chance of improving on what we have now.

If Rodgers is still sidelined I'd pick the Pats to beat New Jersey in the season (and possibly BB's) finale.

Hands off? RKK had Pistol Pete feed his troops Bologna...

"“I’m figuring into the menu for the players on that weekend. And Kraft comes to me and says, ‘Well, you know, we’re not gonna feed them like that. We give them bologna sandwiches, and chips and stuff like that.’ It hit me just as clear as a bell. I thought, ‘I’m in deep trouble. I mean, if I can’t even feed them the way I wanna feed them, what’s gonna come …’ I mean, he didn’t know what he was asking for at the time. We didn’t cover bologna sandwich stuff in interviews."

It was a really stupid question to begin with. Asking an OC if he has the authority to tell the HC if he could sit a QB?
With the unconventional way things is run around here lately is any question stupid?? I beg to differ.

And that's the hope didn't think it would end like this but the saying holds true no man's an Island not even the once Great BB.

Disagree. Corky has obvious flaws. It’s not clear that a different QB without those flaws would have the same struggles.

My point was that Mac and Zappe are pretty much interchangeable at this point re. how the offense ultimately performs.

you’re talking about different things. Winning another game at this point, with the same cast, unlikely. Replacing Corky and getting same results is a different situation. If the replacement is already on the roster, we already know what we have, and it’s also not good. If we pick up some QB off any street corner the equation changes. Even the ghost of Colin Kapernick might be an improvement.

Allow me a pivot here to address what REALLY stood out to be from BOB’s comments:

Someone actually being a man and taking some GD accountability, offering insight, and being a damned leader.

It’s fair to say the O has been abysmal, and BOB certainly has had a role. But I admire him for owning it, and trying to diffuse some heat on one of his players.

Sad that it is refreshing to see, but it is.

I know there is another thread on BOB’s comments but I think it buried the actual lead. Mods feel free to merge if you disagree.

What I took from presser was for the first time in a while, a NEP coach OWNS responsibility for failure, gives some insight, and tries to shield one of his players from taking heat (fair or not).

Basically, he behaved like a leader.

No grunting, childish, or petulant answers, just the truth.

“Blame me”.

Wow…

Sad that a grown man offering a public mea culpa (though one could debate how much is REALLY his fault) is noteworthy but it is because we just haven’t seen it.

He’s earned my respect if nothing else.

Would that our HC had the same courage and honesty.
