Trade deadline thread

The normal TE tag amount isn’t relevant for Henry because the tag is a minimum 20% raise over the player’s prior year cap hit. I don’t think he’s an option at $18M+.
Thanks, I forget the minimum raise part every time.

After Jimmy took that helmet shot to the knee my first thought was a trade partner for Mac.

I had two immediate thoughts. That was one. The other was, so much for him as Mac’s replacement.

That ship sailed a couple of injuries ago. . . .

I expect Mac to start for the rest of the year. Perhaps someone will trade for him after the season.

The reality is that we played one of the best teams in the NFL yesterday and were close all game. and YES, the difference was QB play. As I watched the game, I think that we are really 2 players away (QB and playmaking WR). I suspect that if we traded QB's with MIA, we might very well have won the game.

BTW, the answer to have an injured OL was indeed top QB play. One of Tua's answers was for him to take less time before the pass than any QB in the league. He also is one of the very best at decision-making, and getting the ball to the open receiver.

you don't think it helped Tua having Hill and Waddle open like within half a second?
Mac is crap but switching QBs would have done the same outcome, Mac would have looked very much decent and Tua would probably be on IR already, Mac gets a lot of heat but this team has not a lot of talent (if at all) overall, its just a poor team build up and not fitting anymore to nowdays offensive minded NFL

How can you be a QB, at any level and not understand where your feet have to be to make solid / accurate throws. That horrible footwork, even on completions, does not not allow Mac to throw outside the numbers. You know what you have with Mac, he is not good enough and should be someone else's problem. Years ago I spit out Anyone but Bledsoe after he gave the ball away at the worst possible times, over and over...Brady turned up. So I am saying now, Anyone but Mac. who knows. How about that head case QB that left the team, he looked great on film? Give him a call.

I think they trade Uche and that's it, the NFL usually doesn't have a lot of trades at the deadline like baseball.

What? Tua made a number of errors in the game. I don’t love Mac but Tuan wasn’t much better. The difference is that he has two fantastic targets in Waddle and Hill. Dolphins overall talent level is better.

Agree. A playMaking wide receiver that doesn’t get hurt, and a QB that doesn’t throw floating interceptions.

Pre-2011 or so yeah, there'd be maybe 2-3 deals from the beginning of October to the deadline. Nowadays it's about 15. Not MLB style but definitely not insignificant anynore.

You can get a competent QB in round 2 or 3, really. It doesn’t have to be a top pick. Those guys are the “elite” guys, but if you just want competence, like Kirk Cousins level, they’re around later certainly. They can find someone better than Mac in the 2nd in all likelihood. Marvin Harrison Jr + a 2nd round QB can take you places.
