Miami uses a lot of motion and the Bills defended it well and beat Miami. Motion is helpful only if it confuses the opposing defense.

I saw a scouting report waaaaay back when I was in high school that stated that the opponent always ran toward their motion receiver.
A buddy said that team would use motion to show the kids which way to run

I don't know about Orlovsky specifically, but I do know that how successful a QB was when he played doesn't usually correlate to how well they coach/can see the game of other QBs. Look at Kevin O'Connell for a prime example of that.
