Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

Mac has bottomed out, lost all confidence, but you don't want to replace Mac. You'd rather just lose, concede the season, whine and moan.

Then why are you bothering to lose debates with me and argue on behalf of Mac?

If Mac isn't the problem, if Zappe or Grier wouldn't be a marked improvement because they team itself is so horribly bad... then why do care?

It shouldn't matter who starts to you.
The team sucks. All the metrics when you isolate the offensive position groups say that. You were wrong. You are just being stubborn and can't handle how wrong you were and are looking for excuses. That's what people who lost an argument do.

It's interesting that you think you won a debate when everything you said would happen didn't and every fact says you were wrong. Are you seriously this insecure and obnoxious? Face it Wozzybear. You got the whole thing wrong and we shouldn't listen to your estimation of talent.

That's the end of the story

We'll see.

If they replace Mac, if his replacement plays well and they win.... I'm sure you'll admit you were wrong because you're so honest and logical.

Not.

Wozzy in all seriousness, I hope you are right. But I don’t think you are

If they were smart they should tank for Caleb. Bill will win a few meaningless games like he did in 2020 to take us out of that discussion

The thing with 2020 was we started 2-1. Once that happened there was essentially no way we were gonna do bad enough to have a shot at Lawrence. If we lose this week in vegas, we are 99.9% going to be at 1-7 in a couple of weeks. We could be in the drivers seat at that point besides Carolina who most likely isn’t looking to draft another qb. A trade can alway be worked out there to make sure nobody else leapfrogs us.

If we do make it to 1-7, im not an advocate for throwing games… but personnel wise you can absolutely tank without compromising your competitive integrity. If vegas beats us Trade onwenu and uche. Bourne if you don’t plan on resigning him. Ship parker out and get an extended look at boutte/thornton/douglas the rest of the way. This should give us a great chance of drafting 1 or only behind carolina. Additional draft capital as well. At the very least BB need’s to realize 2025 and beyond is the priority now.

This is a farce. Deebi, Aiyuk, Kittle, and that RB who might be the best RB in the league. Please stop with the talent doesn’t matter when talking about some of the most talented teams in the league
Teams that either draft or pay for key players seem to be the winning teams while the teams that give them away are usually losers. The most obvious example is former Panther McCaffery (0-5) being traded to SF (5-0). That kid is as tough as nails and very elusive. It looked like Dallas was trying to take him out but he survived.

Bill did not remove Bledsoe, Moe Lewis did. For all we know Bill was going to let Bledsoe keep going.

Bill's Pats record was 5-13 to start and there were many changes in 2001, not just to the "4th string" QB. But with that QB at the helm the team went 11-3 the rest of the season and 3-0 in the playoffs. That's much better than average.
You missed the point I made. I was writing about a team that did not yet become the best in football. They were rebuilding. Their best WR wasn't on the team yet; the QB was a risk averse game manager; Corey Dillon wasn't on the team, Seymour was a rookie, etc.

Belichick did not have the team he was building until his 4th season.

I was responding to someone who said he came in losing, is going out losing. When you're around for 24 years, and you come in rebuilding, and go through another rebuild in 2020, don't be surprised by those results, because this is the NFL and it's what happens when you rebuild. The problem now is that our 1st round QB in 2021 has busted. Which is a total difference from Brady.

It depends on who you have.

KC lets players go because they have Mahomes. Detroit let Stafford go. Cincy is about to let Tee Higgins go.

The Panthers were losing with McCaffrey, they're losing without him.

The 49ers were winning without McCaffrey, they're winning with him.

I'm not sure we can correlate spending more to winning, when time and results have proven that spending more doesn't necessarily equate to more wins. I think better managed teams win, they need to stay healthy, have the horses and execute at a high level.

The Pats are getting the worst execution in the NFL from the most important position... and nobody can overcome that.

So, if we replace Mac Jones with Zappe or some other QB which likely will happen this season.

And we still struggle with the same issues because our roster is poor. Which likely will continue

What will be the next excuse for bill from these posters?
At first the excuse was injuries but even that can't explain how poorly the team is doing. There's definitely something wrong going on with the Pats.

Yes, but Bill let them all go, not just one or two, and all of them were better than every player in your post and none were traded. And Bill, the highest paid man at his position, did it for nothing more than money and got nothing in return. I know that all teams let players go but not as many, especially lately.

2. Comments from "source close to Mac" - has been a thing with him going back to Alabama. When things aren't going well, "sources close to Mac" come out to go to bat for him and tell people how it's not him, it's everyone else.
This really makes me not like this kid. The last guy was 180 degrees away from this type of garbage.

????

Who did the Patriots let go?

Than every player in my post?

You're saying the Patriots let go better players than tee Higgins, Tyreek Hill and Matthew Stafford?

Yes I want to think you're joking but this is the internet so there's a possibility that you're serious.

Who implemented those changes? Belichick.
People ignore the fact that the Pats were in CAP HELL going into 2020. So they released a lot of overpaid players.

McCaffrey is tough as nails? Maybe when he's healthy. But between 2020 and 2021, he missed 23 of 33 games.

I agree with the premise about paying for key players. The Pats HAVE done that during Belichick's tenure. Light, Seymour, Wilfork, Koppen, Vrabel, Law, McCourty, etc, etc all got 2nd contracts that made them top 5 paid in the league.

The problem, right now, is that BB has missed on several players who were supposed to be "key". Such as Jonnu Smith, and Isaiah Wynn.

Cole Strange is starting to look like he'll never be healthy, ala Adrian Klemm. Thornton looks like the next coming of Hart Lee Dykes instead of a lesser Stanley Morgan.

But it all starts with MAC. If he has lost the confidence of the team, then they need to put someone else at QB1 while MAC get's his head on straight.

I don’t really care what you think about me.

I am pointing out that saying Pickett getting 15 points as something to aspire to. Pickett benefits from a defense that creates a lot of turnovers that puts him in position to do very little in wins.

There is plenty to trash Mac about without creating the false narrative that Kenny Pickett is better than him. The two weeks maybe, but not overall.
If only Mac could have played on a team with a defense that created turnovers...

Never forget

Unfortunately, our season ended sooner than we hoped yesterday afternoon in Buffalo. While we always want to be playing games with playoff implications in Week 18, our expectation was to perform better throughout the season and to advance through the playoffs. We can assure you that no one in our organization is satisfied with the results from this past season.

In the weeks ahead, we will be making critical evaluations of all elements of our football operation as we strive to improve and return to the playoffs next year.

When we welcome you back for the 2023 season, we anticipate presenting you with an improved product on the field, as well as many exciting new features and additions to Gillette Stadium. You have helped create a dominant home-field advantage over the past 20 years and we look forward to creating many more memorable moments in the years ahead.

As always, we are extraordinarily thankful for the support you provide us and the strong foundation our organization has as a result.

With great appreciation,
