2022-23 Playoffs; The Quest for The Cup

1 down, 15 to go

Montgomery rolled 4 pretty consistently, Maurice used his 4th line pretty sparingly. It certainly showed up in the latter half of the third period. The B;s still had plenty in the tank, the Panthers were noticeably slower.

Yes noticeably slower. Never really in doubt, like it should be.

3rd goal for Boston pretty much ended the game - it was huge. Despite the illness, Boston got stronger the longer the game went.

Humor is in the eye of the beholder, sometimes size does matter

Yeah, well, there's something to be said for championship trophies you actually can keep, but at least Bruins fans get banners to remind them. Patriots fans get BOTH!

True. But how cool is it that your name gets put on The Cup with all the other victors from decades and decades ago? And remember this is a Bruins thread and nothing is going on in NFL/Patriots Land right now. Also, didn't you hear the screaming fans last night demanding "We Want The Cup". I think they are really serious about it; I hope they all get one or it could get ugly in TD Garden.

How dare you besmirch Lord Stanley's cup in a hockey thread.

To the contrary, I respect the cup greatly. It was the silly comparison that drew my faux indignation.

Among the coolest things about The Cup...

Play on a Stanley Cup Champion and you are immortalized for all time. Not too shabby

You respect it greatly, just not greatly enough to properly capitalize it

The Lombardi Trophy is a distant second to Lord Stanley's Cup, but it has made up a lot of ground. The other two lag greatly.

The NFL makes Lombardi's the way Venezuela prints Bolivars, there's 57 of them.
This year's presentation of Lord Stanley's Cup will mark the 138th time it has been awarded and in turn the winner will have to defend it in order to keep it for another year. With the Lombardi it's like "Yeah, don't worry about it. You can keep it, we'll just make another one."

The NFL cup will get there someday.
