BB THE GOAT

That's why I compared Bradshaw's stats to his peers and not modern age stats. The game was different then for sure, but in relation to Fouts, Staubach and the rest he was never considered the best among his peers. His teams were the best.
Agree..... but he should have been.

its funny, i muted just two people in this thread and it doesn't seem that bad...

edit: upon second thought, its really not that funny
Yea I should mute people but I struggle sitting back and letting stupid takes/fake news contaminate young minds......

Parcells won nothing after leaving the Giants.
In NE he had a .500 record
With the Jets he missed the playoffs 2 of 3 seasons and won 1 playoff game.
In Dallas, he didn’t win a single playoff game.
After leaving the Giants in 11 years he only made the playoffs 5 times and was 3-5.
Parcells with BB: 2 SB wins, 1 SB loss
Parcells without BB: Bupkis

There's a couple guys that troll for trolling sake. Seems like they just want to wind dudes up, push their buttons.

His detractors do not care about context.

In 1991 BB inherited a 3-13 Browns team and without the benefit of FA his first 2 yeas and an owner with deep pockets (and sanity), he got them to 11-5 and the playoffs 3 years later which IMO is a pretty good achievement. Things might have gone differently in 1995 had the owner not f__cked the team culture by announcing the move to BAL in the middle of the season.

In 2000 he inherited a 5-11 NEP team with cap problems and an overpaid, underperforming and imbalanced roster. In 2001 he made a whole bunch a FA acquisitions, started the QB he felt was best for the team and won the SB with great defense and special teams and just enough offense.

In 2008 he went 11-5 without the GOAT QB, a true shutdown CB and an aging defense with a horrible pass defense.

In 2020 he cleaned up the cap. Rebuilding again.

In 2021 they drafted a QB who went to the Pro Bowl and they were back in the playoffs.

IMO 2022 was really the only year BB can look in the mirror and truly blame coaching for their horrible year.

2015 injuries did them in. We can argue all day about the MIA game. They were protecting Tom b/c the line sucked. No JE and the throws to Gronk were protecting him as the 2 catches on 7 targets indicates.

I blame 2006 on BB the GM. Being a penny wise and a pound foolish re: Deion was the difference between them and the Dolts.
In 2015 they also got screwed in the Denver game. AFCCG should have been at Gillette.

I'd put Stabler right along side with Bradshaw in that era. Maybe even slightly above. Snake never had weapons like Franco Harris and Lynn Swann...

...they should just be banned. Grade A doochbags.

The Steven Jackson game was coaching brilliance. Yeah.
With the #1 priority of protecting Brady and Gronk for the playoffs, what should they have done differently?

A playoff game in Denver wasn't going to end well. Should have still gone all out to clinch IMO.

It would have gone worse than 20-18 without Brady or Gronk.

You cant be serious in trying to justify that decision with Steven Jackson in Miami? That had to be some sort of pissing contest with Bill and god knows who? That game plan made no sense. Go down to Miami and try to plow away with an over the hill scrap heap RB?

That and the motor kick for no reason to kick start the Eagles comeback. Sending Chris Harper out in the snow to field punts for the first time in his career. Electing to kick against the Jets in OT late in the season. Then the debacle in Denver in the AFCCG where apparently Bryan Stork was tipping the snap count and the Broncos were teeing off on Brady all day.

Foles was never, and will never be exceptional.
Wrong

2013 Foles started 10 games and went 8 - 2 with 27 TDs and 2 INTs. Nick Foles Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Draft, College | Pro-Football-Reference.com
Prior to getting hurt Carson Wentz was Vegas front runner for the NFL MVP award. The Eagles team was exceptional in 2017. That's how Tom Brady put up the single greatest stat line in Super Bowl history but lost to Nick Foles... a career backup.
Foles passes for 373 and 3 TDs and 1 INT. Super Bowl LII - Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots - February 4th, 2018 | Pro-Football-Reference.com

Thats a good day; A mouth breather would claim that Foles didnt play exceptional in that SB win.
Exceptional teams is how Joe Gibbs won three different Super Bowls with three different journeyman QB's. It's why just "good" Eli Manning beat Tom Brady twice... Tom Coughlin deserves to be in the HOF for building exceptional teams. There was nothing special about all these QB's who won rings. Once is an outlier, a multitude of occurrences isn't. If Joe Flacco can do it, you don't need a magical unicorn, you need a magical team.
Its takes a great QB today.
