Who are those potential rough diamonds who are under the radar and should be hanging around in rounds 6&7 and undrafted? We usually get decent contribution from these unheralded gems, so who've ya got

I like:

QB Cole Kelly
RB Max Borghi
WR Charleston Rambo & Ty Fryfogle
TE Chig Okonkwo
OL - I'm not up to speed enough, if there's a small school guy who's built like a bull and has a chip on his shoulder about not being respected because he went to a small school, I'll go with that guy
DE - Jeffrey Gunter
DT - LaBryan Ray
LB - Chance Campbell
CB - Jack Jones
S - Kolby Harvell Peel

I'll probably have a 3rd or 4th on Campbell. He'll go a lot earlier than 6th or 7th I'm afraid. I'm starting to grade shortly and he already has a good film grade

Rb - Durant if duke
Cb - Durant of sc state
C - howerton of smu
Og/ot - volson of North Dakota
Cb - armory Davis of alabama
Nt - coburn of texas
Te - allen of Nebraska
Ot - for Georgia tech (forgot his name)
Lb - Carter of alabama (injured)

Could someone just confirm how the UDFA selection works......do teams just wait for the draft to finish then then there is a scramble and a bag full of cash on offer to who you think will work out or is there some pre draft work or a more structured approach ?

Pretty much from the end of Round 5 players are getting offers in the event that they go undrafted. They can only be signed once the draft is complete and in a lot of cases it's more financially beneficial to not be drafted than to go in rounds 6 or 7.

Most of these players will have been scouted and the teams will know who they want, but once the draft ends it's a free for all and money talks.

e.g., I believe Edelsquirrel said that he had heard interest from the Packers as an UDFA.

The CBA has a collective and individual limit on UDFA signing bonuses. But no limit on guaranteed salary. In the case of La'el Collins, his entire rookie contract was guaranteed.

Definitely need to focus on O-line in UDFA as well as CB..

Slade Bolden at WR for sure…

Because we currently have so very few picks, I don’t want Bill to use ANY of them on QB, RB, TE or Safety; and only One - if even that - on a LB…

Therefore, whoever are the highest-ranked among those position groups who weren’t drafted are the UDFAs I want Bill to sign; I also want him to sign the best-availabile UDFAs at LT, NT, DE, Outside CB, Slot CB & WLB…

Bill MUST be very, Very, VERY aggressive in the post-draft market… No Excuses Accepted.

When did 8 picks become "so very few"? That's 1 more than normal.

That post was 2+ weeks ago.
Pats had 7 picks at that point. 7 picks is the norm.

The Patriots have 70 players signed currently. Probably going to be 71 or 72 before the draft. It's looking like we'll see 8-10 UDFA, which is about standard for the Pats. And it won't necessarily be as critical as Stone implied.

Been watching a bit of tape on offensive lineman deculas of lsu. As a guard, he shows some monster power in the run game.

If his pass blocking improves, he would be a great find as an UDFA.

Not a gem but if BB wants get a FB type in the likes of Tommy Vardell (9th pick in a draft) he can sign Zander Horvath, injuries and all.

Slade Bolden feels like it’s almost a little to obvious to actually happen.

I would Love to see Horvath signed here as a UDFA; he could give Dalton Keene a run for his money... If either of them are cleared to run yet, that is...

josh johnson wr tulsa

He probably gets drafted but just remember his name in case he doesn't.

Justyn Ross. His medicals are red flags but when he had a competent QB the guy was Julio Jones 2.0.. if he doesn’t get picked up with these remaining picks I think he could be one of the biggest steals in recent history.

Not sure he'll get his chance. A degenerative spinal condition is not something teams are going to freely take a chance on.

I think my boy Tre Turner is still out there too, which has me utterly flabbergasted
