OT calvin ridley suspended for year

Dude couldn't gamble under an assumed name or let someone else do it for him?? Seems like Calvin doesn't have a lot of friends.

He's dumb for this, but also I couldn't care less on a moral level.

I also think the same about Pete Rose.

The really unfortunate side of this is the hit athletes with mental health issues will or are gonna take in the future. A lot of folks were pissed with the way he left the team, and a lot of others supported him. Just to find out he was gambling on games like a twat. Furthermore, how in the hell are owners allowed to sponsor or be owners of gambling organizations? What a complete racket.

Yet another reminder why NFL teams don't want to pay players big money. Can't even keep himself out of trouble before getting his big money deal too

Should've just said it was one of his split personalities doing the gambling.

Pretty dumb, but he was completely away from the team. A year suspension seems harsh.
If an NFL player is betting on NFL games, a year is lenient.

Look at all the kooks out there already convinced the NFL is fixed. This adds fuel to those fires.

My conspiracy theory (which I don’t think is too far fetched) is the league got word of him betting games while he was playing last season and told him to find a reason to "step away". I would assume he agreed since he would potentially be facing a lifetime ban from the game. Seems awfully convenient that the league claims he was only betting after he stepped away. Between this and Stephen Ross allegedly trying to pay Flores to tank the league's credibility is taking some major hits.

I'd buy a Mahomes jersey if I lived in Atl.

A year for betting on games he had no impact in?
Am I reading this correctly?

Stupid suspension

ETA I guess he had parlays including the Falcons to win. So still a little extreme but I get that the NFL has to squash it hard before it becomes a bigger problem

If you have to announce you don't have a gambling problem, then you have a gambling problem.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm 3 beers in and on my way to the Bellagio to place some NCAA Hoops bets and play poker (and get drunk) for the next 10 hours or so. (and yes that last part was serious.... but don't worry, I don't have a gambling problem )
