J.C. Jackson - "It's time to get Mr. INT paid."

He also let Talib, Revis, and Butler walk when they became free agents.
They let Talib walk due to his 2 consecutive no shows in the AFCCG. I was infuriated both years he got injured (especially him getting knocked out by a midget at Denver 2013 season). Pats were feeling the heat to win now with Tom so they couldn't risk throwing money at that guy.

Strange he became Iron Man after getting the big contract as it's usually the opposite ala George Kittle.

Looks like it, don’t get why they’re basically letting a young home grown talent just walk.
Unless one of those wanna win now Teams come knocking...I am sure the Pats have feelers gauging JC Jackson's value in a potential sign and Trade. I am ok with moving on if we get can at least a Second Rounder for him.

Showing our hands so soon Beli leaving nothing to the imagination reminiscent of our WR evaluations. That said no human is happier than JC right now after reading that.

Yeah of course 2nd round is what I would expect in a trade. I don’t get just letting him walk

See post above seems like its clear sadly.

Well knowing they have a little more money now I hope Mac get's a couple of WR's one via FA and one in the Draft.

Cooper, Chark, Berrios, Isabella, trade for Jerry Jeudy, trade for Calvin Ridley, Jarvis Landry, a lot of talent out there.
Here is where I stand if it isn’t a receiver from a major school I’m terrified.

Gotta admit they have options just hope we don't cheap it out.

Let the free market determine his worth, decide whether to match or not. It’s smart. He’s going to get wildly overpaid.

I normally drink the Bill coolaid but you have to question the decision to let Gilmore and Jackson potentially go for nothing when set against the huge contracts given out last year. In isolation, I get not wanting to franchise Jackson at $17m. But this is a weak free agency class of CBs so he's going to be highly coveted and its going to be hard to get a replacement. They should have sorted out a contract last off-season if they thought this was going to be an issue.

Poor drafting has meant we have completely abandoned the strategy of getting someone in a year early to take over. If we want to get a 3rd round comp pick for him, it also means we're not signing any big ticket free agents. This is going to be a year of cobbling together the cornerback position - a draft pick, a couple of mid to low level free agents. Not ideal if we have any aspirations of competing in the AFC.

Wow...that is bad.

@captain stone Is letting JC walk like this horrible management of an asset or what? When he signs a big contract early in FA, I will be the first to add this to Bill's list of blunders.

Letting JC walk in free agency would be really bad. We have no depth behind him at all and would pretty much be forced to spend a high pick in that position and that guy is ready to play at a high level day 1. It also hinders our free agency because any free agent we sign is going against the comp formula which would factor against the comp pick we get for JC. Disaster outcome

Well they Drafted well last year getting Jones and others so lets hope that trend continues. Let's see how they prioritize the available cash I'm hoping for a really Good WR in FA for Mac it's a WR game now.
