The NFL seems to be diverging dramatically into - GO FOR IT NOW! vs. Build for consistency.
The GO FOR IT NOW teams - Bucs, Rams, Chiefs - are hugely top-heavy with massive spikes down the road and lots of Void years, dead money, etc.
Someone in that mode will grab Cooper.
Even though he's in the December of his career, I don't see BB ever playing it that way. He's not wired like that.
I could see Buffalo, desperate to get over that hump, mortgaging their future to grab another top WR and Gronk, if that rumor is real. I could see Miami, desperate to do...something...making runs at the stars, whatever the cost.
Which do you prefer: consistently good with a chance, or build a superteam? I lean toward the former, because the NFL has too many wildcards and the difference between great players and almost great (way cheaper) players usually isn't as big as say, in the NBA, where you can build a superteam with three or four stars and have a very strong chance of winning it all.
