Clayton being his usual self

The media "experts" fail to realize that the only reason Manning and Vinatieri had a chance at the end is because SD played poorly on offense. If Indy's ST's hadn't of let them down they would have won despite Peyton's 6 picks.

This lovefest for Manning is so annoying!!!

If Manning throws 6 picks vs. NE, and the refs play fair, we beat them 55-10.

Opinions are fine as long as they aren't flippantly contradictory to the observable.

If I say it is my opinion that Point Break is a cinematic classic and the greatest movie of all time, should it be considered a valid opinion? What if I say that Eric Hinske is clearly the best player in baseball?

Stupid opinions don't need to be accepted and given credence. Saying that Peyton Manning, throwing six interceptions in a game his team lost, is worthy of praise for that game is stupid.

See it's your OPINION that Manning's six picks were all his fault, and that Clayton's opinion is flippant. In fact, your OPINION differs 180 degrees from Tom Brady's. Tom Brady told EEI on Monday that Manning's receivers were not where they were supposed to be all night.

Brady drinks Koolaid too but he's not blind. He sees more than you. So did Clayton. It's not their fault that you missed it.

Hmm - I'll have to check the label, but I never realized that Kool-Aid could be used as eyewash

its Clayton that I am refering to not Brady. And all he said was they were out of position and stopped there. If they are not running their routes the decision to throw still remains with the QB.

C'mon guys. This is no surprise. Especially coming from Peyton Manning's massage therapist, John Clayton. It was no surprise when Dr. of jackassology, Dr. Z said the same thing. The love affair the media has with Manning continues....

Peyton Manning can do no wrong. Not now, not ever. Get used to it. They will be using the injury excuse ALL YEAR LONG...

The Colts were in that game because Philip Rivers is a BUM and Norv Turner is probably the world's worst professional football coach. Thats it. Im switching to decaf!

Silly me. I thought that Manning and the Colts lost the game. And that it was the defense that played well against the Chargers. And to think that Manning was responsible. I can't believe I misunderstood to such a great extent.

Manning gets more praise for throwing 6 INTs and losing the game than Brady gets for overcoming a 10 point deficit in about 5 minutes in the biggest game of the season so far.

That really makes a lot of sense.

Actually, I think this is true. The (national media) articles after the Colts-Patriots game seemed to have a common theme that - yes, the Colts are good enough to play with and beat the Patriots(!) (despite the fact that they lost to the Patriots). Perhaps I didn't look in the right places, but I don't remember seeing the articles that wrote stories about how Tom Brady and the Patriots came back in clutch time while the Colts were shut down by the Patriots defense.

I wouldn't know. I long ago started to ignore your posts and now only see what is written when it's quoted - and usually breeze past it even then.

how many times will we hear when brady wins MVP that manning didnt have his receivers so he couldnt compete with brady this yr for the MVP ?

As many times as we heard the opposite (many).

By Pats fans only. That is what most Indy fans seem to have a hard time differentiating.

Of course NE fans are going to lament the absence of some of their better players in a close loss in the AFCCG to their chief rival. Any Indy fan that claims that they would do any differently is lying. However, virtually no one in the media made a single mention of this. In fact, there were several people talking about the 32 point second half in preperation for this past game as if it was a harbringer of what was to come. Not only did they not mention it at the time, they continued to ignore it almost a full year later.

But what we find humorous is that these same "experts" now faun all over Indy trying to find anyone or anything to blame other than the players themselves.

This isn't a case of fans of the team whining, which is to be expected. This is a case of media clearly being biased in their reporting of events.

Back to the your post. Absolutely no one in 2003-2005 every mentioned once that Brady could have performed similarly to Manning with his weapons. Nobody. But now everyone hedges their praise of Brady with a Moss or Welker comment, as if Harrison and Wayne haven't aided Manning in the past.

manning has been THE golden QB from the day he was selected and the media has made sure he stays at that and will defend him or bail him out with whatever reason they can find...

let manning be THE golden boy and commercial man...while brady continue to collect rings, set record and bang hot model!!

Exactly. I've known for a long time that Clayton was a douche, but the Dr. Z ballwashing after Peyton threw 6 picks en route to a Colts LOSS was simply inexcusable. There is more than ample basis for outrage at the clear double standards with which the media use to treat the Colts and the Patriots. Manning vs. Brady. Why is this still even a debate. Watch when Brady breaks the record you will still see some dedicated Peyton ballwashers picking Manning to start their franchise over Brady. I'm not sure what kind of sick pleasure these guys get from these perverse picks, I'm sure they wouldn't be harboring any BIAS or grudges against the Patriots... could they?

he put him team in position to win the game with a very easy FG. is it his fault that AV blew it?

you are placing too much importance on the FG here.

if AV makes it, then are you excusing Manning for his game?

but if he misses it, then all the blame goes to Manning?

The point is, if Adam had made that field goal, the Colts would have won IN SPITE of Manning, but since he did miss it, they lost because of Manning and his record setting 6 picks.

Yup.

Manning has always been a second rate playoff player AT BEST.

He got lucky last year and it won't happen again. Every possibly odd you could ever think of from cheating Colts to blind refs to injuries to a short week came together to allow them a small victory over us.

That lightning is not going to strike twice, and people that actually pay attention will realize that once a choker, always a choker.

The idea that a clown like Clayton made the NFL writers HOF discredits the institution.

Yeah every time I see that I wonder why. He's real good on cap stuff, but he really doesn't know that mauch about the game and Salibury used to eat him for lunch when they used to go head to head. He's anything but the Peter Gammons of football writers.
