I was just going to mention this , really hopeful about McGrone but would he be fit enough to contribute this season...good news anyway

Certainly good news but not that surprising. The window for NFI players to start practicing is closing (week 12) and team would certainly like to use every opportunity to see their young players on the field no matter what they want to do regarding activation to the roster.

I agree that chances for roster activations are slim but injuries can happen and this is 3 weeks of added depth.
Id love to see McGrone on the team adding that trademark #45 speed to the unit but would probably be too much to ask atp..

Hall is the only one remaining on the reserve list (PUP) and im surprised he was not activated yet. With Bentley fighting through injuries and Tavai useless as backup/rotation they could certainly use a fresh solid backup thumper at the back of the season.

Probably not this season, but Hightower, Bentley, and Collins are all FA after this season. Even if they bring two of them back, there will be competition for LB spots next year. I would expect McGrone and hopefully MacMillan to be in the mix there in camp.

Does anyone know if there is a time limit they can practice like 3 weeks? And then they revert to the permanent IR if not activated?

Yes. Just like PUP, once they practice, the team has 3 weeks to either activate them or put them on season ending IR.

I hadn't realized that Golden Tate was still available.. It's interesting that the Titans signed him.. I can't see him having an impact with such a short time to get ready..

Anyone who knows Deus' and my history will know I am not his biggest fan. He has been anti-Belichick long before it was cool. No matter how much I disagree with the guy and think his agenda is too transparent, he has just as much of a right to post here as anyone else.

Personally, if I don't like someone or their posts and have no intention of engaging them, I just ignore their post and go onto the next post. As long as he doesn't completely hijack the thread, it is easy to do.
Rob, did you start doing yoga or something? ;)

He's a condescending prick who deserves his spot on everyone's ignore list.

Bunch of Roster moves for the Titans going into the game with the Pats:

Old friend John Simon. Old Enemy Buster Skrine.
RB Dontrel Hilliard.

Tate went to their PS.

Any idea if that includes the Bye week or not? Since the 3 weeks is during a Bye week, do the Pats get 4 weeks to decide?

Have to assume they are both going on IR at the end of their 3 weeks unless Uche or Collins might not be back, and then there might be a place for McGrone. Can't imagine McGrone is fully healed from his ACL but maybe. Bledsoe is probably fully healed but I doubt there is a spot for him.

I'm not so sure the difference would be big in the Patriots even with the three you mention.

Bolden has been amazing back there - Stevenson can be a bell cow for a couple of games.

Harry wouldn't fill meyers role 1-1, but he can do things Meyers can't, and the defense would have to respect that.

Smith would fill a big part of Henry's role catching, add gimmick, and Onwenu would be a blocking TE when needed.
I'm the opposite on this one. The depth itself is the weapon, but on the field.

I rail against the single, high cost superstar WR ALL THE TIME (broken record, thy name is Scottman), but only because if you can trot out six legitimate average to above average weapons on the field there is no scheming that away for an opposing defense. How many teams have schemed out Hill now where he doesn't take over a game?

The odds are massively in your favor that you'll have a matchup advantage somewhere if you can vary targets across six guys...and if you double one (most defenses can only afford one double team per play), the odds remain favorable for the offense regardless just based on simple numbers.

Once those numbers decrease due to injury, that scale slides VERY quickly the other way. Either you field less weapons, or make guys who could have their flaws hidden by the variety - exposed.

Short duration (1-2 games) you can likely get away with it, but once a good defensive coordinator sees and exploits the remaining, much fewer option, players' weak points - the copycat league will remember.

I agree but you forgot to mention you need a QB who can progress through more than 2 reads. Not that common actually.

Rob, did you start doing yoga or something? ;)

Nope! I am doing the MJ10 Method. Those sideline breathing exercises are calming. And spaghetti tastes better than avocado ice cream.

There are just guys more annoying than Deus to me these days. Besides, I find watching the anti-Belichick crowd twist themselves into knots kinda funny. I bet they thought they would have a couple more years of the Pats sucking to trash ole Bill. Must suck for them.

Golden Tate wasn’t on a team this year. How far behind am I????
