This thread and upcoming game would have been more fun if both the Jets n Pats were 1-0 vs 0-1, but such is life.

Disclaimer: Sorry if I'm not allowed to start a thread as a Jet fan. I'm not trying to cause issues for Ian or the mods. I think (hope) they know this. Just curious.

Go on the record. Zach or Mac? Who will be better?

I think we can all agree Mac is in the better situation (coach, supporting cast...).

But if you had the #2 overall pick now, whom would you pick? Zach or Mac?

Btw, cheers to a season w/fans again. And congrats on Mac! Kid looks good. Looking forward to seasons of battles. And especially this upcoming week.

Zac took 6 sacks.
Mac took 9 hits.
Expect a lot of blitzing on both sides.

Mac destroyed blitzes this week but his body may not hold up all year taking all these hits.
Patriots have 2 TEs but the oc has no idea how to use both at the same time.

Right. I think they both did well given the circumstances.

Hate to put it to ya again, but you're the GM... who do you take for your team?

You're asking the wrong person. I've been calling for Mac since last October and think he's the second coming. Taking him as the 5th QB at #15 without trading up at all is just icing on the cake.

So value for your dollar? It's only week 1, but yes... I agree. At 15, NE as of now has won.

I see you've been keeping it friendly and classy here. I will do the same, which means I will now bow out of this conversation to refrain from making comments about your team. G'day

I think both QBs will be excellent in the NFL. I watched a lot of both QBs during their college years, and really wanted Zach for the Pats. But he played just damned too good last year, jumping into the top 10 discussion. Wound up 2nd overall. I loved Zach in college. He’s just able to do so many things, different arm angles, throws extremely well on the run. Reminds me a lot of Aaron Rodgers and has some Mahomes in him as well. If the Jets can fix their O-Line, Zach can be extremely successful. He was incredibly accurate in college as well.

Being a NYC based Pat’s fan, I watched the Jet’s game yesterday. Zach got off to a horrendous start, but a lot of it wasn’t his fault. Practically every passing play, defenders were in the backfield chasing him. But they seemed to tighten that up in the 2nd half, and Zach starting looking like the Zach from BYU. Beautiful throw, on the run, to Davis on his 2nd TD pass.

Mac, well I loved him in college. When he mopped up for Tua before Tua got hurt, I figured it was the system and the weapons. But the more I watched him, the more it dawned on me. This guy can play. Just an extremely smart, accurate QB with a quick release. A lot of people were saying, but look at his weapons (which was interesting because that argument was never used for Joe Burrow), but he actually had a better year last year after losing Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs to the draft, and lost Waddle in game 5. He was better than the year before when he had those 3 and Smith. Now granted, he only started 4 games that year. Last year, played 13 games. But he was better, despite the losses of those players.

Also, what I love about Mac, is his fight, his heart and determination. He has a Brady like determination, drive. And despite being drafted 15th overall, he has a chip on his shoulder. He had a similar situation to Brady’s in college where a lot of people didn’t believe in him, and he had to wait to become the starter. Yet he never quit, never gave up, and when he got his chance, well you can’t do much better than he did last year.

I think both QBs are off to a good start, despite losing. Zach played really well after a tough start, there were plays in the 2nd half that showed why he was the 2nd overall pick. Mac, showed a lot of what made him great in college. First rookie to ever throw for over 70% completion percentage in a game based on 30+ throws, in a debut game. I think Zach is more physically gifted, but I love what Mac brings to the table.

It’s gonna be a fun game. And I think it’ll be a 3 point game.

This is a tough one for me because I really like Wilson. He has a level of arm talent and natural ability that is hard to not be awed by.

That said, I'll (perhaps selfishly) go with Mac. Dude just has an intangible edge to him that's hard to capture with words. Seems to have something special, for lack of a better phrase. Yesterday afternoon affirmed that, IMO.

No worries. The time will come for fun. :)

Now though... we may both have good QBs.

Thanks for the effort in the reply. Well said.

As a betting man, I'd say Pats ‐ 5.

As a Jet fan? Knowing the crowd?

It's even. If Mac wins, dude is legit.

Agreed. Mac does.

If he can keep it together vs the hostile crowd this week, I'll legit be worried.

Im not seeing what other Patriots fans are seeing.

Mac looks slow, tentative and there isnt that much velocity on the ball. Yesterday, Mac threw a couple of wounded ducks that will be INTs if those risky throws continue.

To get a true and accurate picture, I want to see an opposing defense stop or slow down the NE run game to force Mac to win the game. Or, the opposing offense, jumping out to a lead by a couple of scores lead thereby forcing NE into throwing to get back in the game.

I thought the Pats OL was supposed to be tough and their DL/LB were also better tahn Miami's.......How come Mac got hit 9 times ?? I believe Tua was hit much less.....

It must be hard to be unable to view the world through anything but your own biases. I'm sorry you are so out of touch with reality.

I do not own rose colored glasses and do not wish to borrow yours.
lol, you don't own the ability to comprehend reality. You don't need glasses for that, you require the ability to non-subjectively evaluate facts.

He's trolling now and is gone from this thread.
Weird dude, he was down on Brady 70% of the time too and McDaniels, I've never seen anyone hate an OC that helped a team get to 4 Superbowls that much
