Mahomes will never be better than Brady

There are subjective things, like which QB is "better". (better in what way? better arm? better athleticism? all in the eye of the beholder) Then there are objective things, like which QB is the greatest winner. Tom Brady, objectively, is the greatest winner in NFL history, and it's not even remotely close. You can claim it was all BB. You can claim it's all because he's had great defenses. You can claim he gets all the calls. You can make up whatever you want but at the end of the day, nobody in NFL history has won like Tom Brady. He's literally in a class all by himself.

He's had the greatest career in football history, and given the supporting cast around him, does anyone see him taking a step back next year? I don't. He might not win it all (it's really hard to win the Super Bowl, as even we in NE know), but he will be excellent again next year. At age 44.

The guy is absolutely ridiculous.

Mahomes is an amazing player.

With that said, his legacy also elevated Brady's legacy.
Well said. There is a good chance that, if he stays healthy, Mahomes retires up in the Montana/Manning tier of the great QB pantheon. For Brady's career to begin as the kryptonite of a top 5 all time rival, and end as the kryptonite of the next generation's top 5 all time rival is amazing.

Brady has moved past Jordan. He is now approaching Bill Russell territory.

No he won’t and no he isn’t right now either.
One could make the argument that Brady is still the best QB in the league right now, which is insane. Had a great season, beat the current MVP on the road, smoked the consensus "best right now," hoisted the Lombardi, won the SB MVP, and, oh yeah, did it all with a new team that was 7-9 the year before.

Well said ....same thing with Manning and many others...always had weapons. This was one of first times in Brady’s career that they had a lot of weapons or elite players/WR...and he wasn’t even that calibrated with them....wait until next year..could be better

Godwin and Evans combined for 3 catches for 40 yards

Could Tom Brady be the first player to have a dynasty with 2 different teams?o_O

Mahomes is already better than TB. He's a better QB right now. He won't ever be greater.

Exactly - there's more to being a great QB than fancy off-balance throws, otherwise you could make a case for 100's of QBs with highlight reel plays that Brady could never have the athleticism to pull off.

But QB's aren't track athletes or circus acts... they are leaders of a team that are paid to win football games. There are many, many traits that all add up to the complete package, and overall, Mahomes trails Brady. Even if someone thinks that the highlight reel stuff trumps all of the other traits, in reality it does't add up to as many Super Bowls.. (see Rodgers, Aaron). Brady leads in all of these, many are intangibles:

Be a great leader, elevate those around you/Be a good person that your organisation wants to be around and believes in
Dedication to off season practice regimen & diet
Pre game preparation
Reading the D
Decision making
Clock management
Pocket awareness
Accuracy in the clutch
Sheer will to win

“He can’t throw the ball and block “

I understand the argument to be made that Brady is still « better than Mahomes now ». I’d disagree. The historical/overall is unreachable now. But, I’d venture that today’s Mahomes is indeed better than today’s Brady. I mean, we have Prime Mahomes atm, and he’s been nothing short of brilliant since winning the starter’s role.

Last night, Brady was indeed better, but when you consider the tremendous job of supporting cast VS the craptacular performance of Mahomes’ teammates...

The most amazing part of it all ? That a solid and well reasoned argument for 43 year old Brady > prime Mahomes is even possible !

Ive got to put this on Chiefs Planet

I think the bigger problem for Mahomes is that he's already proving way too injury prone for such a young QB. He hasn't had anything catastrophic but he's dinged up all the dang time. I don't see the guy being an Iron Man on the level of Favre or even Eli, never mind Brady.

looks like she had a little too much wine.

Hes a great qb who will keep kc in the hunt more years than not, but things will look alot different in a couple years when the cap becomes an issue. Plus his and reids style will get him banged up quite a bit, he wont play near as many years as tom. But i bet he finishes with 2 or 3 rings, as good as any qb other than brady overall.

Mahomes physically looked like a crumbled hot mess by the end of the evening. The wife kept saying Mahomes looked fat.
The dude should lighten up on commercial shoots in the offseason and double down on his pliability work.

What a couple of hypocrites. His mom @ing Gisele about refs is peak hypocrisy. Chiefs only won last year because of the numerous generous calls/non-calls. Literally got an afcc home game because the refs didn't call Harry's clear TD a TD

His gf is the worst player gf/wife in sports. It's alright for her to sit in Gilette and run her mouth at Pats fans yet espn puts a picture up and she's whining. I'm glad her little "wait until his career is over, he'll have more titles than Brady" take has already hit a speed bump. 0-2 vs Brady in the playoffs. Winning a 2nd isn't always a guarantee. Ask Rodgers & Brees and even Manning, guy had to be dragged to his 2nd SB win
