Hoping like hell Tom loses tonight, but it’ll take a miracle from Washington. Regardless if the Bucs win tonight, their season most assuredly ends next week.
Why do you hope that?

What's wrong with booing the enemy? I love him, but when we play next year, I'm not cheering for him to beat us. Hell no.

Edit: And this is just booing. You won't catch me yelling, "12 sucks" or ripping him if he throws interceptions or now suddenly hoping the cliff happens.
Actually, the Pat's need at least another year to rebuild. They don't have any stud up and comers on rookie contracts from the top rounds. So the Bucs beating the Pat's can help them get a higher draft pick. Just have to look at the the 2001 team and 2014 team to see the core of the team was in place to make a run at multiple SB.

Some people don't want tom to have success. I guess it's some weird idea that they want all his success attributed to NE.

Or they just want to see ex-patriots fail.

I loved Tom Brady as much as anyone while he was here and he’ll always be the greatest of all-time to me. I literally have a candle with his head on the body of Jesus on a shelf in my house, for chrissakes.

Ultimately, though, he’s the one who chose to leave here. He’s the one who stated he wouldn’t be caught dead living in the Northeast again. I myself have lived away from the Northeast for 5+ years now, and can never imagine myself saying what he did, as if living in New England is such a burden he’s had to live with for 20+ years.

Second, as if acknowledging that both are the greatest of all-time is impossible, many posters on here have taken upon themselves to deride Belichick as overrated or a stooge without Brady. If you’re going to go that route, I sure as hell am going to defend the guy who wanted to stay here and will probably spend the rest of his life in New England. Brady getting bounced early in the playoffs weakens the arguments of those who think Belichick is trash, and doesn’t really hurt Brady’s legacy at all given that he’s 43.

Finally, as a physician, the junk pseudoscience of a lot of the things Brady has peddled has annoyed me. That annoyance turned to anger at the start of the pandemic seeing Brady try to sell “immune-boosting” junk and making a profit off the virus.

In the end, when Brady returns to New England as a retired quarterback, most of this will be water under the bridge, but until then, I really don’t care to see him succeed.

Pretty petty stuff.

He's not from New England, he played sports there. Big difference. So he doesn't like the cold. Neither do huge chunks of New Englanders.

It really was a mutual parting of ways. BB didn't want him any more.

What specifically was Brady peddling? Because even my physician recommended supplements to boost immune system (I'm assuming that's what Brady did--he never said he had a cure for Covid or anything nearly like that).

Like I said in the Bills/Colts thread I think most of the country will cheering for Brady to win his 7th ring this year.

Except if he’s playing the Bills in the Super Bowl. think Tom would rather be hated by other fans anyway lol.

You'd rather see the Steelers or Chiefs get another Superbowl over the greatest Patriot/player of all time?

Bucs are gonna kick the absolute crap out of the Pats(ies) next year. You know Brady has it circled already and he’s the one guy you don’t want to face when he has something to prove.

If the Bucs win by less than 3 scores, I will be impressed.

I’m sure he’s thrilled to return to New England so he can win back the prized fandom of people like yourself.

We won against Atlanta, we won against Seattle, we won against Carolina. All 3 games did not feature a good defensive performance. In particular we were pretty bad against Carolina.

Yes obviously we need offense too. I'm saying seasons where we actually won a ring, those defenses were not weak against the run and we had elite DBs. Not the actual Superbowl game. But we only won rings when we had an elite CB and safety and were stout against the run.

I’m pretty confident they won’t lose again. They’re playing too well right now.

Hard to believe this is true if you are rooting like hell for him to lose. He has been associated with Guerrero for years so that is not a new phenomenon. Obviously every fan can root for whomever they want but I just honestly cannot understand actively rooting against someone who brought so much to our team - especially since he went to a team with zero history with the Patriots. If he went to the Colts, Giants, Steelers, Jets I could understand.

I hated hearing AV get booed but I think this is a big reason why.
