OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Division wins can never be written off imo. A comeback like they had against a division rival is a statement game.

Atlanta is a crappy team, and they were playing without Julio Jones.

Makes a great point, Rodgers last year had just a new coach and an off season and didn’t produce like Brady. Meanwhile Brady moved cities, coaches, and new teammates. Just doing GOAT things at 43

People forget about Manning's first year in Denver. And Manning had all spring and summer to get in tune with his WRs. Elway did the smart thing and told the OC to take a hike. Manning, meanwhile, went on to post his best season ever the very next year.

But then all the PEDs he had been taking did him in as the negative effects overwhlemed him.

Hardly stacked in 2013 by the time the playoffs rolled around...

fact is when gronk stayed healthy they went far, more often to the SB than not. In 2011 he was gimped for the SB that they barely lost, in 2012 and 2013 he wasn’t there for the playoffs, in 2014 they won it all as he stayed healthy, in 2015 they barely fell to the champs despite our OLine melting down and our center tipping the count, in 2016 they won without gronk, in 2017 went to the SB and put up record passing yardage but Bill curiously decided to screw our coverage by benching butler, and in 2018 they won it all with a semi-resurgent gronk making big plays down the stretch against the chiefs and the rams

They still should have won in those years. They've done far more with less.

That offense in 2012 was the best offense of the entire 20 year run. 557 points. 5th highest scoring team of all time. 34 throwing TDs, 25 running TDs, including 6 by Brady himself. Welker, Lloyd, Gronk, Hernandez, Edelman, and out of the backfield he had Shane Vereen and Danny Woodhead.

Look at the players in 2012:

And how many times did the Pats lose fo the Dolphins when they were a crappy team? Division games are different
He's a troll period and it begins with his screen name. Does anyone really think a guy who's always Johnny on the spot to diminish anything and everything good Brday does is really his fan? Does anyone really think that someone who constantly mocks and complains about Brady fans was serious about choosing TommyBrady12 for his screen name? And it's not just what Brady is doing now. He goes back through history to teach us great things hes done were really not great because it was some other thing that helped him. He's adopted the "fake news" strategy to win arguments.

So are the Jets, and we needed a last second field goal to beat them. Division games are hard, no matter the team.

TB winning close games has little relevance to future success in my view. GB is the 1 seed and they were trailing the Jags in the fourth quarter earlier this year and just beat the Panthers by one score this weekend. I really think the NFC is wide open and with home field having less value than normal I could see any of the top 6 teams making it to the Super Bowl. The 1 seed will have a big advantage so they obviously should be favored but they will likely have a tough match up in the divisional round so anything is possible. KC seems like a heavy favorite to me in the AFC.

How then do you explain the close wins against the Giants and Chargers?

Not positive what your point is? I do not think anyone is claiming Tampa Bay is a great team but that does not diminish a great comeback win on the road against a Falcons team that has played many tough games this year. I could see TB losing round 1 or making it to the Super Bowl. Likely scenario is win WC round then lose in divisional which will be a highly successful season for them.

They have crappy coaching. As soon as they started using crosses and quick passes in the second half the offense was pretty much unstoppable against the falcons. Coaching needs to start putting these guys in position to do their best.

They need to nab that 5th seed. OC needs to be more creative on offense.

What are you talking about? A win is a win. The Patriots won a Super Bowl in a year we lost to the lowly Browns. You come off as a jilted idiot. You are what your record says you are.

It is a mystery to me why Bill wanted to move on from Brady so badly. He was taking cheap contracts since 2013 and would have continued doing that in exchange for a multi-year contract that would have taken him through age 45. I could understand it more if Bill had any sort of transition plan at QB but he had none which makes it all the more head-scratching. At least in terms of the other great QBs, you had quality transition plans - the Colts had Luck, the Packers had Rodgers, the Niners had Young. I mean, for goodness sakes, we have lousy Cam Newton!
What QB in the history of the NFL has done what Brady is doing right now at 43? Maybe Bill was just playing the percentages when it came to Bradys age and decided at some point a few years ago to only go year to year. We saw a little dip in performance last season. Combination of lack of personnel and Brady was also dealing with an elbow injury that he never seemed to fully recover from. Maybe Bill thought that Brady was only going to decline from here and now was the time to start the rebuild process. Hats off to Tom on proving him wrong with a strong season this year.

So, the Bucs being 1-4 against top teams this year says they suck against good competition...got it.

No you don’t got it. They are a 9-5 team in a playoff spot, no more and no less.

Who's arguing that they are not going to be in the playoffs? Maybe if you tried keeping up with the conversation you'd figure it out.

You’ve already been figured out. You act like a spoiled 6 year old because Tom Brady left the Pats. You’ve embarrassed yourself on this thread for 327 pages.

Yep- look at the MNF game right now. Case in point...
