More than body language, the opposing D KNOWS that if it's a pass, probability of a screen is high. Long passes are out.
It's not like today's team will throw to a TE short.

When you have terrible receivers every pass is a known quantity by the defense.

if you have a predictable OC with a horrible RB playing at QB its easy indeed, the WR and TE are not the issue, watch Can't Throw in the pocket, he is pathetic, the 2 series from Stidham looked so much more fluent, he got the ball out so fast compared to Can't Throw and it seemed the passes were way more catchable than what Can't Throw does out there

its not the WR, its clear as day Can't Throw ist the worst starting QB out there in the league (50 years ago he would have been great, but nowadays its about passing and he can't do it)

and I agree with you 100 percent about newton being completely incompetent in our offense.

but my point is that every time newton drops back the defense already knows what he is going to do. He only knows how to read the primary route and if not open, he runs. In the last 4 or 5 games, someone has taught newton how to read the secondary route, but his mechanics are so awful, he sucks at dump off throws.

Stiddy - 5/7, 27 yards, 2 sacks 59 passer rating in garbage time. Yay?

Thankfully this nonsense about a QB controversy with Stiddy ends this offseason when he is sent packing.

We have an almost completely horizontal passing game. The defense knows it is either a screen or a little swing pass 75% of the time because Cam throws a football as if it were a bowling ball.

I was thinking shot put but same idea

I think he looks like he’s being controlled like a marionette. All jerking and unnatural.

Everything with him looks awkward and painful. Sometimes they zoom in on his face in slow mo on some of those 15 yard out routes and it looks like he is putting everything he has into those throws and he almost looks like he's in pain. The weird sidearming motion he does that gets batted down at the line. The catapult style delivery for the few passes downfield. He doesn't even look like he really runs that well at this point. He is far from the he was even in 2013 when he was putting Chandler Jones and Donta Hightower in a blender.

yeah have seen it, the Rams sent out the practice squad players not the starters and no pressure at all in "garbage time"

the stats from Can't Throw reads much better:
90% playing time
53 passer rating
4 sacks
9 for 16 (~56%)
glory 119 yards
and a nice INT
thats what I am expecting from a 10 year veteran, the difference with Cam is obvious, way better than what Stidham showed in 2 ****ing series not more...

they can cut Stidham today, but first send Cam to the moon...worst starting QB in a pass heavy league

I'm not saying the Pats can't do better than Cam. They won't find an improvement on the roster.

Cant say i disagree with this, but i think at this point we know absolutely what cam has left. Stidham may be underwhelming, but he's had almost no volume to make a substantial judgment. BB obviously views cam as a better QB, whether that's experience or running this current offense, and is starting him, but some people want to see if there's anything at all with stidham if you give him a few games to start.

He tips off a lot of things, as does our play-caller with his predictable packages. Some weeks, he's fine, but weeks this year, McDaniels has been terrible and without Brady to bail him out, you're seeing a typically mediocre OC in this league.

Why the Pony packages are not used with Michel back is totally mindboggling. Watch them refuse to play Taylor down the stretch, too.
