Larry Eisenhauer - Alchetron, The Free Social Encyclopedia

R.I.P., Wild Man

Born February 22, 1940 in Hicksville, NY
Patriot RDE, 1961-1969; uniform #72
Pats 6th round (42d overall) selection of the 1961 AFL draft, from Boston College

Larry Eisenhauer - Wikipedia

He was nicknamed "Wildman" by his Patriot teammates because of his unpredictable antics, such as running out onto Kansas City's snow-covered Municipal Stadium field clad in only his helmet and athletic supporter, hitting his head on metal locker doors or ramming his forearms through locker room walls to motivate himself. Eisenhauer was an AFL All-Star in 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1966, and is a member of the Patriots All-1960s (AFL) Team.

May his family find comfort in this tough time, but I don’t think the world will ever forgive him for dropping those two bombs on Japan.

Larry was a good player, sorry to hear he passed. Bob Dee, #89, was also a good player.

Have to say, folks should remember that #65, Houston Antwine, and #79, Jim Lee Hunt, were effin awesome. Jim Lee Hunt would beat the running backs in the sprints in the training camps in Andover. And Houston Antwine was the best DL in Patriots history. It's an atrocity that he is not in the Pats Hall of Fame.

Made many big plays. Seems like yesterday, but it was a long long time ago.

A great patriot...riposa in pace...

Eisenhauer goes back to an era when players did not worship money. Players
were happy to have a chance to play in the old AFL.
