Always figured we should have a thread on how rookies are doing.

How I had 'em
Bosa 8.74 - 1st
Omenihu 8.16 - 2nd
Reed 7.22 - 3rd
CGJ 8.20 - 2nd
Lawrence 8.30 - 2nd

Except for the game where he lost his head and got booted, Wilkins of Miami looks like a player.

the Clemson d lineman that Oakland took does not look that good.

minshew is the steal of the draft through the first half of the year.

I figured Lawrence>Wilkins>Ferrell coming out and it appears to be that way

Minshew clearly a steal and tremendous value but wonder if he is truly a franchise QB, regardless a major steal

Minshew gets benched after a rough game in England.

If Bill hadn't made the retahded SloJuan Willie trade, I thought that Chauncey the Gardner (or Armani the well-dressed Hooker, an Early-Bird Bobby favorite I'm sure) would've provided excellent value at #101 as a way to start the over-due youth movement at Safety...Omenihu would've provided fantastic value at #159; in fact I thought when the trade-up was announced that he would be the target there instead of Cowart...oh well...

Painful to see LJ8 go before Michel and Dawson go before Andrews

And Harry before Brown and us pass on so many good TEs...hopefully this class pans out

We're basically red-shirting this class. Key to next year will be these guys more than 2020 picks; Harry, Harris, Williams, Cajuste and Friholdt. Need all of em on 53 and contributing.

Along with injured guys like Develin and Andrews.

we red shirted a bunch last year and except for Jackson, who did not red shirt, we have not seen much return on that investment.

Wynn. That's pretty good return on investment!

Anyway, on topic of the thread, good to see that a lot of the receivers we identified on here as potentially good targets are having strong seasons. Of course, we hope Harry continues to trend upward, but I'm still a little baffled we didn't double dip at the position:

With state of our WR group, the weak FA market at WR, and BB's wise refusal to pay their ridiculous price...I think a double dip in '20 is pretty likely

I'd like to think so, but I also thought we'd take two TEs in the last draft, so what do I know? This year I'm really removed from the process, too. Y'all will have to carry on the draft board tradition without me. Too many things in real life taking up my time and energy.

I'm in the same boat as you in terms of thinking we'd grab at least 1 TE

Hope all's well

Our TE’s are much worse than our WR’s. I want to trade for OJ Howard and draft a TE who can block

Howard can block to an extent, but yes, he'd be super nice and NE has been linked, OJ for a 3 would be fair

Everything is fine, thanks! I'm just busy with work and a new baby on the way. As I get older, I'm finding that I have less time for hobbies like the draft. Or, rather, that I'd prefer to spend the time differently. I'm finally trying to launch a side project that I've put off for many years. While it's less fun than amateur draft scouting, it's also more rewarding and (I hope) will have longer-term impact for my family. I'll still check in now and then to see what y'all have discovered about players and prospects, but in my personal life, I'm on to Cincinnati (figuratively; I don't want to live in Ohio).

Definitely not worth it when you have a family & this place is less & less abt football. I'll be putting out content like you're reading though.

revisiting this comment...if we are going to give a 2nd for Sanu, i would have rather offered that for OJ. Hopefully TE gets the attention it deserves in this draft.
