Taylor feeling left out?

I dont see the phins ever trading JT in the division, especially to the pats. He might end up in the NFC.

What good does it do Miami to hold onto Taylor beyond this year? To me the Dolphins waived the flag by trading Chris Chambers, whom they signed to a monster deal only 2 years ago. They're cleaning house. Chambers is gone. Trent Green is done. Zach Thomas is on the way out.

What good does it do to keep Taylor around? They already have one aging, overpaid pass rusher in Joey Porter, and he's years from getting cut because he just signed. Can they afford to keep Taylor around? Will a disgruntled Taylor do the incoming youth movement any good?

I think Taylor is a February cut. And, as a borderline hall of famer who has not sniffed the playoffs in 6 years, he knows a Super Bowl win as a member of the Pats would seal the deal. I see it happening.

Aren't we past the trading deadline now?

What about going back to a 4-3 with Sey and VW as DTs? It would mean Bruschi doesn't start.

Lol I saw this on NFLN and its exactly what I thought! oh man JT would give up money to play for the Pats right now! oh how sweet would it be if we trade for him ahahahha!! the whole league would go nuts!!!

I know there was another JT thread on here this week, but did anyone else post concerning the fallowing article?

Seems to me (from the video and report above) Taylor does in fact want out, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if Taylor where to find his way over to NE....likely after this season though.

I say after this season because I doubt they'll cut him as he doesn't seem the kind of guy who'll make enough noise to find the door, and the trade deadline for 2007 has just passed.

BB wouldn't consider switching out Ty Warren or Jarvis Green? Methinks he would...

[Edit] Can you imagine a DL with Taylor on one end and Seymour on the other?? Holy motherofgod.

Too small to play 3-4 DE
he would play OLB/Elephant for us

Yep, he'd be a pass rushing 3-4 OLB for the Pats. I don't know why people don't seem to realize he's already played OLB during his career.

i agree, i think that taylor could easily play OLB for teh pats...

i mean, then we can have a nice OLB rotation as well...but really, if that happens, teams WILL go nuts, LOL...

it wont happen this yr...for two reasons
1. the trade deadline has passed
2. the pats are too stacked and doing all too well rit now

but i think taylor has a great attitude, and can still play...also why would he not take a pay cut? i think he would readily do it...

It is a nice pipe dream.....Just think JT in a pats uniform...OC would be having sleppless nights...What would cost????

No. I couldn't. There's no way that would happen in our system. If we went 4 man line, Seymour would play tackle.

He's also buddy buddy with a few Pats...and not just ex-Fins...

BB's already gone "de facto" 4-man line several times this year (vs. Browns and Cowboys) using Vrabel as a DE. I think Taylor would rock in that role, even if his "day job" is OLB. Uhh, maybe not $8 million-a-year rock, though.

Anyway, I kind of agree it's a pipe dream. I don't think there's a burning need at either the DL or LB positions like there was at WR last year, in spite of the fact that the LBs are getting older. If only we could clone Adalius Thomas a few times.

i think we would be willing to pay 4-5 million a yr?...rit? and that means total a year..

we have created one of the best offenses in history..lets do so for the defense as well next yr...the NEW steel curtain

When did this become common practice? I've noticed this spelling quite a few times on this board and others lately. So, when did Right become Rit?

No way ... first time i have heard that we have a young DL which is awesome lets an old guy.

you cannot spend too much on DL , sey and ty have long contracts . so vince would have to go remember of the 40 million deal sey signed 26 was paid last year so cutting him is a total loss from this year. ty has been a beast and is so young.

green is the pass rusher and in rotation with seymour and ty - close 300 lb DL so effectively he has to play OLB

we have colvin and vrabel who are both real good and young boot so one has to be cut and that is fushing the LB core down the drain bythis dumb move.

why do we need players who do not fit our system especially OLD ones ?.... seau/brushi/ad play ILB in rotation and i want colvin and vrabel in all the time.

We used to use Willie to switch too. Nevertheless, if we were to utilize Taylor in a 4 man line, we'd likely use Green at the other end and Seymour in the middle. The pass rush would go completely from linebackers to linemen and at 315-330 Seymour is not a pass rushing DE.

The other option would be to convert Taylor into a OLB DE hybrid along with learning all our LB responsibilities.

Either way, it's a lot of adjustments for one player, talented though he may be.

ive been using that hand with "rit" for a loooooooooong time now...prob like 4 yrs...its not new to me, hence i cant really stop it, IF i spot it...

Taylor would be an excellent fit. Though I could only imagine this happening in a situation where Bruschi is retired.

LE Ty Warren
LDT Vince Wilfork
RDT Richard Seymour
RE Jason Taylor
LOLB Mike Vrabel
MLB Adalius Thomas
ROLB Rosevelt Colvin
