Testaverde still has no clue who some of his teammates are. He had to use the "hey, you!" approach several times during Sunday's game, but he's planning to take a media guide home this weekend since the Panthers have a bye.

Teammates have already started calling him "Grandpa" and "Pops," but his favorite is "Uncle Vin."

"For some reason, I think that one's very appropriate," he said.

Asked which player named him that, Testaverde paused before saying, "I can't recall the guy's name."

Lol!

His mansion is sweeeeeet too:

Nice pad (not crib, Vinny's too old for that) in the hometown of Blue Oyster Cult.

I wish him all the best...

Hell, the man is only 43! It's not like he's a freakin' senior citizen or something. Granted, it's old in terms of the NFL, but not in society at large. This makes me think that if more players took top-notch care of themselves like he does, they should be able to play at 40-43. I'd like to see how long Seau can go, he's a workout warrior as well.

I think that with modern medicine and the fortuitous lack of debilitating joint injurys & concussions we may well see more and more older guys still playing.

In real life like we lead, given the same lack of joint injury it is possible to condition yourself to a long life of playing pickup team sports. I was a lousy BB athelete but managed to play hoops against decades younger guys until 'retiring' just recently.

What caused you to retire? How old are you? I'd think you'd be able to do that through your fifties. Remember that article recently posted here on that guy who made his college football team at age 58 -- he did it all through weight training.

when vinnie beats the colts next week peyton will be crying granpa!!!

I think there are more than a few posters on this board who would put a different name in that sentence. . . .
