Here's my theory on why we bring in top receiver talent and then let them go:

Coach brings in these problematic studs, gets loads of tape on them so our defense will know exactly how to play them once they're on other teams and let's them go on their merry messy ways.

What's a few millions dollars of upfront money compared to another Ring?

Hahahahaha.

Must be it

This guy should be a GM

Could be true but I hope it is not

Wait... are we talking about...

ANTONIO BROWN?

Outside recievers just arent a big part of this offense. Never have been and never will be. Amazing how 20 years into this system, people still clamor for outside recievers. If you want a dominant passing offense, put a left tackle and an elite tight end on your wish list.

I hate to make a serious post in this thread, but I don't think anyone should use the term "never will" about a Belichick scheme. If the league changes in such a way that outside receivers offer more of an advantage to Bill, or if the right ones become available at the right price (Moss, Brown), the system will change accordingly. We used outside receivers a lot in 2007, and it wasn't just Moss.

Is that you, AB? Josh?

“Simple” is a good word to describe that theory

Pats should do this across the roster: sign stars at every position and then kick them to the street after they learn from them. 19-0. Bwahahahaha!

It had been a long time since I last had the opportunity to use the genius emoji.
