Justin Bethel and Matthew Slater on the same squad as gunners??????

Admittedly, tongue in cheek thread title, but I must admit the vibe before punts will be a bit different today with the Lennon/McCartney of today’s NFL Special Teams Specialists. Not to mention Jake Bailey seems to be turning into Johnny Hekker 2.0.

Punts the rest of the season are going to be even more exciting plays than before.

PLUS wet conditions!!!!!

Punting? What's that? The only position Jake Bailey occupies for me on Madden is the bench. :D

The kid is pretty good.

I was actually alluding more to the acquisition of Justin Bethel to pair with Matthew Slater.

Hence the Lennon/McCartney part. Bailey is the just the cherry on top.

Not sure I get interested by the actual punt per say. But I look forward to the defense going on the field instead of the offense.

With crazy conditions out there, the D (+ST) and the O could be going half/half of the total points for NE !

Watch special teams today. ;)

Id rather see touchdowns.

The defense is just as likely to get TD's as the offense is. That's why I enjoy watching them. Note: I'm not saying the offense is terrible. I'm saying the defense is damm good.

The Pats tend to play "poor" conditions better than anybody. Like that snow game in '09 against Tennessee: Brady just put a ton of air under the ball and watched Wes/Randy torch helpless DBs who couldn't get any traction. (59-0 Pats.)

Halfsies? It wouldn't shock to see the defense Out-Score this offensive offense today.

We are truly Pats geeks enthusing pre game about punt & KO coverage. Gotta luv it!

...Watch.......Special....Teams......now and for the rest of the season. We are in for a rare treat, folks. Along with the historically good defense and an offense that is getting Sanu today and soon Harry and Wynn.

The special teams unit, though, is the sleeper to watch.

Slater and Bethel really are the two greatest special teamers of the last 30 years and probably two of the three best of all-time alongside Tasker, so it's pretty cool to see them playing together.

Cherry on top for me was Baltimore snagging Richards shortly after. I like to think it was partly a feeble attempt to get even.

That's what I'm thinking too. Could get interesting.

They will really hate us now

Since Brady is retiring, I want to see Brady catch and blow by Peyton Mannings NFL TD record.

Other folks like punting and FGs.

I, too, have been daydreaming about our special teams coverage.
