I expect more action, but nothing major, in the next week. A possibility that would be major would be the signing of a top OL, understanding that bot Thuney and Karras are in their contract year, and Andrews is an unknown for 2020 (we've already offered a first).

1) We will add a player tomorrow for this weekend's game, unless we wait until SAT and activate a DL from the Practice Squad.

[EDIT:Tomlinson is still on the 53, so there is no open roster spot]

2) The only real NEED is at FB, if we can find one.

3) Harry will be added next week, after the trade deadline.

4) Bill is hard at work, looking for upgrades everywhere, as usual.

SOME THOUGHTS

A) I think that we're done at WR. We have five, and Meyers or Harry is our #5. Only 3 get much action. We should do fine with our top 3: Edelman, Dorsett and Sanu, especially when considering that we have Watson and White as receiving targets.

B) We could have a pickup at TE, especially if neither backup is really healthy. However, there doesn't seem to be much out there.

C) Special teams is always a possibility, even if it is Richards for a one-week stint until Harry is activated.

D) Bennett could be traded if we can find a buyer. If this happens, I would expect us to sign or activate a DL, hopefully a DT.

E) Obviously, we can use an upgrade on the OL. We have the following on the roster: Cunningham, Ferentz, Newhouse and Eluemunor. When Wynn is added that will make 9, a relatively "normal" number. I should note that both Thuney and Karras don't have 2020 contracts, so we could use someone who can contribute this year, and into the future.

I am hoping Wynn comes off the IR that would be the biggestr upgrade we could make to the roster.

What? Less than a week to go? Is it Christmas time? Are they still undefeated?

How long was I out?!?!?

Tomlinson is back (never gone) for this week.

How are we going to add players and fit them under the salary cap?

Wherever we are - we certainly are not done.
Let's hope the TE search does not end.
I am not worried about Harry - I mean how much can he offer at this point.
Also would not be surprised to see a few more OL walk through that door as cuts happen.

The two weakest positions on this team right now are tight end and OL. Wynn will certainly help when he comes back. If we can somehow include Bennett in a trade and upgrade our tight end position, I'm all for it. Bringing in a tight end that can actually block might help our running game as well.

It's not clear to me why we consider Watson such a weak starter at TE.

I'm fine with adding an upgrade. However, if necessary, I suspect that Belichick is OK having Izzo or LeCosse as our backup TE. We have Tomlinson as a TE/FB, although he is at he bottom of the depth chart.

Player for player trades are rare and unnecessary. If Bennett is traded, it will likely be for a draft choice. We can use that choice one of our 3rd to trade for an upgrade whoever chooses.

As far as the OL, I strongly agree that it worth a 3rd to bring in an upgrade to Cunningham or Ferentz. Best would be someone who would be on the roster in 2020.

We could restructure Hightower ($2.3M), or even extend him.

We could restructure Sanu ($1M).

We could extend McCourty ($3M)

We could extend VanNoy ($1.3M)

There are additional restructures for smaller amounts, and also other potential extensions for smaller amounts.

I bet a Van Noy deal gets done. Otherwise he probably goes to the Titans like everybody else.

Getting Wynn back (Assuming he does return) will be big. That said, I think a legit backup left tackle is key. Newhouse isn't even serviceable.

TE is going to be difficult. Who is out there? Atlanta isn't trading Hooper. Eifert is always injured. Gronk isn't returning. And frankly I don't want him too. He's stated what football has done to him physically. Is winning a SB with Gronk, at the risk of him getting potential CTE or worse, worth it? Not to me it isn't.

Unfortunately we can't rely on him being healthy ever.

With silly statements like this you shouldn't use a "we" because there is nothing in Wynns history that makes him unreliable.

We have until Tuesday at 4PM EST I believe.

I think we are sitting pat now. If we are to add a FB, it will be off the street...what other teams have a surplus of FB's to trade us anyway?

It is what it is.

Lets Fing Go!!!

I expect Wynn will be activated from IR. If Brady has a better protection and more time to throw the ball - our WRs will be looking like superstars.
