RUMOR? Patriots interest in AJ Green?

Develin suffered a neck injury that was bad enough to put him on IR. He isn't resting off turf toe or healing a sprained ankle, neck stuff is really serious, and they would have left him on the roster if they thought he'd recover in time to play. He almost certainly won't be back this year, and any time you see IR (Neck) you should wonder if that player's career is in jeopardy.

Totally agree: I'm more thinking Develin will retire he has nothing to prove he was a Great Patriot.

since the Pats can’t draft a good wr, they should go after a young one and lock him up

Eifert is always injured though. And so is Green. I'd rather get Sanders from Denver.

This meme of AJ Green always being injured is massively incorrect. Before he tore his achilles last year he only missed 10 games out of 121.

Pats can't afford the cap hit and I doubt BB is trading a 1 or a 2 for A.J. Green, who still hasn't played this season.

I could see a deal for Sanu or Parker for a lower draft choice.

I think we can have Cameron Brate for much less I think he's way under-utilized and would be a decent Patriot.
He hasn’t hit 40 receiving yards in any of his past 23 games, 8 of which came with Howard not playing. At what point do we say he is what he is? His 2018-2019 per-game yardage average is right around 2019 Izzo and 2018-2019 LaCosse, at four times the cap hit of those two combined.

Everybody want something for nothing alright I'll play. The Bucs have been saddled with inconsistent QB play Brate's 2016-2017 numbers was very good for a player of his caliber. Winston is very Jekyll/Hyde one week he looks like First Rounder the next week a 12th Rounder. Again I think Brate have been a victim of that and might be much better than regarded. I know we are paying peanuts for both LaCosse and Izzo and maybe they are coming around but I would like another guy who is much better and use those Two for Dept.

Probably a dumb question, but what is the point of putting guys on IR (more than 2) if you believe they could return this season?

Why not just make them inactive (if and until they are healthy)?

Wouldn’t that have prevented us from having to choose 2 of Wynn, Develin, or Harry?

I know they couldn’t foresee these guys getting injured, but would making one of them inactive really be that detrimental?

Because you lose the roster spot. They'd have had to cut someone from the 53 to bring up Develin's replacement and hope that person clears waivers.

The Pats might be interested if they can steal him, which they won't.

I still think It's Emmanuel Sanders for Meyers and whatever (not high) draft choice they agree on.

It's because of roster management. The back end of the roster is always changing based on injuries. Jordan Richards is here because of injuries to special teamers. I would assume his roster spot isn't safe if/when everyone is healthy. And unless I'm mistaken, we don't have anyone that has been inactive all 5 games.

Who do you cut right now to make room for one of those guys to not play?

Dez?

Better choice. If Gordon smells Ohio air. Oh boy!

**** IT LETS MAKE THIS AN AB THREAD

"They have to pay me, they may as well play me."

The man makes an excellent point.
