OT: Andy Hart joining WEEI as columnist and host

The only one I like from the pfw crew is Fred, Paul is salty and Andy is sophmorish...

I hope this means no more Statler and Waldorf during the Bob's Discount Furniture studio crap.

i agree 100 percent. probably never played organized sports in his life.
I don't know if he ever did or not, but even if he was a HOF pro athlete, to me he'd still be a major DB. To me, no one necessarily has to be any type of athlete to be a good analyst. In my opinion, Lou Merloni, Christian Fauria and Scott Zolak suck. And I think Mike Holley, Tom Curran and Phil Perry are good. Ex-athletes can be good and they can also suck. Same for non-athletes. Anyway, just my take.

Perhaps I should have made this thread a poll:

Is WEEI getting desperate?

Maybe they could do a sign and trade. Send Hart and Keefe to NBC Boston/comcast/b!tch central and get Holley back to pair with Arnold. At least fans would end up with a few hours a day where they get something that might not be either a big bag o suck or a constant douche fest. Yeah I know, that's not how any of this works...

You just posted by far the most brilliant observation re: Boston sports talk radio I've ever seen. Kudos and bravo...

Seems like a nothing issue. I doubt he'll flash as anything notable.

I miss the Dale and Holley show, used to be my favorite. Keefer mehness, so lame...

He is kind of filling a void left by Tomase leaving ... nowhere to go but up for that.
Now THAT is the very definition of the term, "addition by subtraction". That's a pretty low bar for Hart to aspire.

He's a fellow Tufts Grad, so I always wanted him to be good, but @Tunescribe hit the nail on the head. He's a little too glib for his own good, and got that smarmy I'm smarter than you attitude that makes me think they are going to try and sell him as Felger-lite, but with out Felger's self deprecation. That won't be pretty.

Sportstalk radio has hit the crapper for a while now their penchant for sensational conspiracy driven theories have made them pretty much unlistenable.. the only thing that will make me listen again if they have intelligent conversation, but that is too high a bar in this day and age..

Always been a fan of Arnold, until he gets all huffy and puffy.. bring back Holley.

Does Hart have the ability to speak louder than the other hosts?? Can he overspeak them?? Both prerequisites for that gig..

I guess the time has passed when a journalist had to show genuine talent (acumen/insight/perceptiveness) to land a meaningful gig. Now it's all about showmanship and posturing. Gary Tanguay is the local poster child for that approach.
You're confusing TV personalities with journalists. They aren't the same thing nor are they intended to be. Hart wasn't a journalist at PFW and he won't be one at EEI.

Not a big fan or Hart's Mr Negativity schik but he's got middle school aged kids and a wife that works full time.

He's like the rest of us. Hope he does well and doesn't annoy me in the process

Arnold, Keefe & Hart..... I don’t feel so bad about losing my hearing, when I think about listening to those 3 clowns.

Seems like EEI is really throwing up a desperation Hail Mary. Good luck to him, but doubtful that he’ll last long there.

Should bring on Tom Casale while they're at it....

TV killed the Sportstalk Radio Star (not to be confused with The Buggles)

I read you in the paper back in eighty two
Early morning intent at seeing things thru you
If I was young it didn't stop you coming through
Oh, a, oh
They took the credit for your smart column too
Rewritten by machine on new technology
And now I understand the problems you can see
Oh, a, oh
I met your children
Oh a oh
What did you tell them?
TV killed the Sportstalk radio star
TV killed the Sportstalk radio star
Cable came and broke your heart
Oh, a, a, a, oh
And now we meet in an abandoned studio (ohh)
We hear the playback and it seems so long ago
And you remember how Ad jingles used to go (ahh)
Oh, a, oh
You were the first one
Oh, a, oh
You were the last one
TV killed the Sportstalk radio star
TV killed the Sportstalk radio star
In my mind and in my car
We can't rewind we've gone too far
Oh, a, a, a, oh
Oh, a, a, a, oh
TV killed the Sportstalk radio star
TV killed the Sportstalk radio star
In my mind and in my car
We can't rewind we've gone too far
Twitter came and broke your heart
Put the blame on ESPN
You are a radio star
You are a radio star
TV killed the Sportstalk radio star
TV killed the Sportstalk radio star
TV killed the Sportstalk radio star
TV killed the Sportstalk radio star
TV killed the Sportstalk radio star

(You are a radio star) TV killed the Sportstalk radio star

He does annoy me greatly.

On a recent Patriots.com podcast, Hart stated that Bangkok is in India. That is the level of intellect with which we are dealing. Fred is by far the most likable guy on that show but he’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer either and doesn’t bring any football knowledge or insight to the table.

tomase is nauseating. where did he end up? boston sports network redsox beat?
After what he did he should have ended up on the first train out of town, then put on a slow boat to china. with a one way ticket.
