Gronk to retire

I thought he was going to play one more year. I'm shocked. I shouldn't be. its the end of an area. this is the cherry on top of an offseason **** cake. no free agents of significance seem to want to play here. 75 percent of the coaches leave. and Gronk retires. :(

Maybe become a jets fan since your concerned about signing FAs of significance?

Late to the party. I have mixed feelings about this, including anger.

1) I loved Gronk, best TE in NFL history. Just the GOAT, a total beast, unstoppable when healthy. There will never be another like him. Gave his all despite dozens of injuries during his career. Add in his amazing personality, and it’s been a joy and thrill to watch him.

2) Why The F@ck did he wait this long. Free Agency is almost over, and if he made his decision “in a couple weeks” instead of waiting SEVEN weeks, the Pats would’ve had more time AND cap space to sign Cook. Apparently he knew before the Super Bowl (signed some Hollywood deal apparently before the SB). He really f@cked over the Pats with this timing. If he did it a month ago, it would’ve helped the Pats. Hence my anger about the situation.

3) Belichick NEVER drafts for need. I think the last time he did that was 2012 with Hightower & Jones, moved up to get both. I’d be pleasantly shocked if he trades up or even drafts a TE at 32. I just don’t see him doing it. Also, I can’t see any TE trade targets available like Belichick did with the LT position last year (Brown).

Just a bad day, I’m in a pissed off mood.
Relax buddy retirement is not an easy decision.

No disrespect, but we hear this every year.

Yes, we missed Cook, but we are the PATRIOTS.

They get it done.

BTW, I feel the same way every season. But I'm learning. ;)
Eventually the band-aid players and unheralded free agents will play like Jags Brady will hold on to that ball a half a second too long get smashed.
We need to address the offense 10 fold in this draft and get it RIGHT!
We can't afford to miss in the first second or third round.

He knew as early as last year. It was an easy decision that needed to be done earlier. Plain and simple.

One would think Patriot fans would at least for today use this thread to honor Gronk.

Not sure that right now - today - it matters who is/was the best TE ever.

But some just cannot help themselves and love to argue ... unreal.

.

Just a reminder to folks about to jump ship - we won SB 51 without Gronk.

We have a boatload of picks to maneuver around the draft board. Have faith, let’s look at the roster post draft.

At least they got Brady a stud WR to replace him...:p It's gonna be an interesting year seeing TB12 trying to move the ball with a new LT, and no Gronk...quite possibly disastrous.

Very true, haven’t won a SB without Edelman though, so I’m so happy he’s still great and a Patriot.

Brady should just hang it up and the tank for Trevor train is full steam!

As I was yours, bud. It's pretty amusing some are dismissing this loss, as being a "minor" set back. That's absolutely moronic. His loss is huge. But the know it alls will brush it off, and act as if the offense won't miss a beat.

Let's see how that works for an entire season.

Well we have a draft to find his replacement. Could’ve been in a worse spot if we counted on him playing and then he retires during training camp.
