One thing Bledsoe is far better than Brady at....

Mo Lewis hit at 2:07:35. Brady debut at 2:27:00.

Amazing knowing what we know now that the Lewis hit didn't actually knock Drew out of the game right away, he came back in on the next drive. With that said what was Drew thinking hesitating like that in bounds?

Brady is so tough. So was Drew.

Brady has handled himself really well throughout his career, and it’s hard to criticize him with that track record, however his posts about Lindsay Vonn and Alex Hannold are hubris. He’s the GOAT QB, no question, but putting himself in the shoes of those kind of athletes is out of whack. El Capitan is something only the world's best climbers attain, and Brady would kill himself trying to ski like Vonn. It’s like asking Laird Hamilton to take him out on 60 Foot waves. GOAT-Absolutley, as far as the NFL goes, not as greatest at everything all time.

Pretty sure he's just trolling.

We need to give credit to Bledsoe for the way he handled his demotion in 2001. Had he not handled that with class he could have split the locker room in half. He also helped in the AFCC at Pitt after they took out Brady, though he did revert to form a little with an attempted pass over his shoulder as he was going down. He got away with it though.

Why are some people throwing stones at Bledsoe? Dude was a good quarterback. Not great but good.

People give the credit to Brady for pulling the Patriots out of the doldrums but if you really look at it, a lot of the work was done by Bledsoe before Brady even debuted. If not for Bledsoe the team is probably in St Louis right now. His run of moderate success, including a trip to the Superbowl, brought life to the fanbase and convinced Kraft's ownership to take an interest in a Patriots team that was already on the incline.

Brady put the team over the top and made them a dynasty, clearly that would not have happened with Bledsoe, but I really think Bledsoe's own performance prior to that gets whitewashed a bit too much. What Bledsoe did between his draft year and 2001 played a huge role in setting the team up for success in 2001 and beyond.

Kind of odd imo. What Alex Hannold attempted in particular, is something no one else should ever try again, although I’m certain some will, and numerous climber’s will die trying in the future. I realize Brady is fooling around to some degree, but I still see some hubris in suggesting he would attempt these kinds of feats. El Capitan is for the greatest climbers in the world only, Brady wouldn’t be able to attempt it regardless of how long and how hard he decided to train for it. Like I said, it would be akin to asking Laird Hamilton to tow him into a 60 foot wave, which should only be done for those who have dedicated their lives, from a young age, to that pursuit. Brady should stick to a Augusta National, and keep El Capitan out of his mouth.

For anyone who hasn’t watched Free Solo you should check it out, what Hannold is attempting is insane.

I missed the Bledsoe era. However, are there any memorable Bledsoe games you could suggest I watch? I might watch a game or two.
Aside from the obvious Vikings 1994 game (in chronological order)...

The 1993 finale that kept Miami out of the playoffs.

Win over Favre's Packers in 1994.

The win in Buffalo 1994 that knocked Buffalo out of the playoffs, sparing America their 5th straight SB loss.

The finale against the Giants in 1996.

Big win in Jax in 1997.

The back to back last minute wins over Miami and Buffalo in 1998.

The win in Pittsburgh the following week (I think).

The win at the Jets in the 1999 opener.

The comeback over young Peyton the following week.

Honorable mentions go to the first 2 games of 1994 against Miami and Buffalo. They were shootout losses, but let the fans see what hope at the QB position looked like after the prior 5 years.

Dark horse mention: 2000 at Buffalo. Lousy boxscore, but just trust me on this.

Chris

Oh...avoid any of the Elway/Terrell Davis Broncos games. Bleh.

Dude was all world compared to what we had immediatly before his arrival. I will never throw shade at Drew Bledsoe. He has the misfortune of being the guy before The Guy. That's it. He put asses in the seats in Foxboro, along with Parcells.

The 70 attempt 45 completion comeback game vs. the Vikings in '94ish...

The split finger game vs. Miami on MNF...in '98ish....

Another game vs. the Colts where we fell behind early and came back...I think '98ish too...Bledsoe to Coates....oh man...

I also liked the come back at the end of the '96 season to clinch a first round BYE vs. the Giants...Meggett might be an ******* in jail now, but he was dynamic to watch back then...

That's always been the biggest problem - it's such a polarizing topic, even nearly 20-years later. People can't just appreciate Bledsoe was a really good quarterback, but obviously not the level Brady eventually reached. Along with Bill Parcells, Bledsoe helped get them back into the upper echelon group of teams into the NFL, which made this team relevant again. Meanwhile, Brady's been the player who made them champions and a dominant team since then.

While Bledsoe's time in New England didn't end well (realistically...very rarely does that happen, unfortunately), it doesn't change the fact he made football much more fun and exciting to watch compared to the era previously where things were pretty dismal for a long time. He was a good player, but Brady's been a better one, we know that. Doesn't change the fact I had a lot of fun afternoons watching Bledsoe and those teams play and I'll always appreciate his role in turning this team around.

Great finds Chris...i never forget as you mentioned 1998 back to back wins against Buf and Mia...i remember correctly that he had also a broken finger ?

Playing the leading role in Frankenstein.

Bledsoe, very advanced skier. Great form and balance with the exception of skis a little too close together. When he learned, that's how we were taught though so it's a hard habit to break after all these years - I still do at times myself (been skiing for 45 years).

Brady... (lol). Stay on piste.. you'll get hurt trying to ski with Drew... (not complete beginner but not good) :)
