they asked if this pats team is better than the past teams. Everyone gave their assessment about the roster etc. And then Tom Jackson as usual says it is better roster wise but we still dont know how much the videotaping helped them.cites the example that in 2001 pats lost to the rams in the regular season and then 'dismantled' them in the SB two months later . He says "i dont know and neither do you how much it had an effect".
So bottomline, pats dismantled the rams with 200 yards of offense and beat them 38-17 in the superbowl. ...its hilarious when former players cant use their heads about how games are played.

And Emmitt Smith continues to be terrible. Saying the Patriots have great running back depth then says with Faulk Maroney and um ahhh ummm (looks at paper infront of him, boomer says sammy morris) ummm yah sammy morris.

but we had the videotape thats why we dismantled the rams in the SB.This after martz said it didnt have any effect. brady only threw for 160 yards in the SB...

Obviously videotaping helped them immensely, as it does any well coached team. Only it wasn't down and distance sideline footage of defensive signals it was coaches tape de-mystifying their offense. Our defense stymied their offense (whose HC was rumored to be quite the adept taper in his own right) by physically disrupting it's timing, which even led to an early pick 6.

Tom is too stupid to grasp that the tell on teams using stolen defensive signals in game is dramatic 2nd half adjustments on offense to the point they can suddenly almost score at will... We weren't the team that did that in XXXVI, we were the team that collapsed on defense in the face of one who suddenly did. And in the last minute and twenty we were facing a soft prevent defense that was more concerned with stopping the big play than defending against a money kicker.
