Negotiations with free agents begin on March 10th, with the season and the cap starting on March 13th at 4PM.
We can't expect a lot to happen. After all, there will be some vacationing. The combine will take place (perhaps with some trade talks taking place there).

DECIDE ON RFA's AND FRANCHISEES
1) I expect that we will re-sign JONES to a 3 year contract. The cost won't be huge. The cap cost will be the same or less than the alternative, a first or second level tender. If no deal can be reached, he'll be tendered.
2) We always tender/re-sign ERFA's. HOLLISTER is the one for this year.
3) For me, GORDON is a no-brainer. I would re-sign him with a very low bonus, and cut him at the end if necessary. If there is no contract, we could tender him at the lowest level.
4) Will we franchise anyone? We could franchise FLOWERS or GOSTKOWSKI. Flowers would take a huge bite out of our cap and would necessitate other immediate moves.
RE-SIGN WHO WE CAN
Realize this is before the players are talking to other teams. So, few get signed in this period, usually lower level players. We might have opportunities to re-sign Simon, Hill, McClellan, Schwenke, Humber, and Ryan.
Waddle might have learned from last year, and be willing to re-sign. All are good re-signs.

CUTS, EXTENSIONS OR RE-STRUCTURES FOR CAP REASONS
A couple of these will be needed later, just before the season starts. My gut says that any reworking for Brady or Mason will take place then.
So, what will be done immediately?
ALLAN could be extended. He certainly won't play under his current contract. He might want to wait until Gronk makes his decision.
The team might be able to complete negotiations with the MCCOURTY's, extending Devin and re-signing Jason.
The only potential cut I see is Clayborn, although I do NOT think that is a good idea. This move can wait until camp, when the team knows what they have at DE, secured from various sources.

The Patriots gave him a chance and he relapsed. I am sure BB lives by the old saying "once bitten twice shy." I think the Pats will make sure they address the WR Position this Off-Season and not leave it in limbo like they did in 2018. I expect them to make a serious run at Adam Humphries he would be a excellent addition going forward.
