He did take Mangini away from the Pats and it does seem like it killed two birds with one stone. Pees has been great and the Jets have a monkey for a HC. Maybe Tannenbaum and Mangini are a match made in heaven. Jets fans even morphed them into Tangini. Some people are just right together.

But look at that fat woman with the butch haircut!

Mo Lewis was the accidental catylist for a dynasty. Tannenbaum is more like a harbinger of the harsh reality that the JETS will always be the JETS.

I thought that he may have caught lightning in a bottle with the young coaches, but this year they're just a couple of panicked kids.

Actually Terry Bradway hired Mangini and then about a month later, Bradway was basically forced out of the GM for Tannebaum who's role prior to the GM position was as the capologist for the Jets with very little talent evaluation experience.

I actually think it had more to do with Woody Johnson's Patriot envy and his endless effort to copy everything the Pats do. He thought he was putting in place his Belichick and Pioli with Mangini and Tannebaum. What he didn't seem to realize is that Mangini is closer to Herm Edwards in his conservative and passive play calling and inability to manage the clock and that Tannebaum is a number cruncher and not a talent evaluator like Pioli is.

Great...now I have to find a pic of Bradway.

Mangini didn't seem overly passive last year though. I recall him taking more chances on 4th and short and having more varied blitz packages. Maybe he found a bottle of Herm-Ade in his office.

I think his defense has always been passive. He has never really had much of a pash rush or created many turnovers. They were 15th in the league in sacks, 24th in forced fumbles, and tied for 17th with three other teams for interceptions. I never though his defense were all that creative or agressive, but did a decent job in not giving up a lot of points.

I do think that he has become far less agressive though this year. It seems that the pressure of the early success last year and his need not to have a fall has gotten to him.

That PIC makes him look like he has breastessess...
So if he got a bra and stopped being distracted by the chaffing he'ed coach better?
