Wish there was a hybrid Genius/Winner icon. Because that's what you are.

LOL

Nice ass?- Check
Nice face?- Check
Nice body?- Check
Does she like sports?- Check
Does she have 1/2 a brain?- Check
Can I have a conversation with her on various topics for more than one hour and not be ready to hang myself? -Check

Next steps after that.

(Note: I have not followed this plan in 26 years so it may not work now )

Hitting the last one is the biggie. Everything else pales longterm...

Agree. Last one is #1. It all stops on that one but I'm shallow so looks matter to me.

Of course looks matter.. but from my experience the last one is harder to hit than finding a woman who is somewhere on the scale between good and hot...

Just like it is hard to find a WR that can understand the system of the Pats. Nailed it. On topic..

I dated a woman who hated football.

I usually only watched 1 game each week which was the Pats. She got clever and figured out the Pats schedule and would plan stuff she wanted us to do at those specific times. Obviously, I refused to go because I knew from the outset that this was deliberate and no coincidence.

Arguments ensued until I had enough of her crap.

ViperGTS. I noticed he snuck back in but I tortured him pretty mercilessly last year and figured I’d give him a break. He had a full ****** moment in the game thread. It happens.

In general, I agree with you, these things happen in the heat of the moment. Certainly I was peeved and pessimistic after what happened on Sunday. The problem was that he kept doubling down on the prediction as time went on, even mentioning it after the "On to Cincinnati" game, until finally just disappearing. I spent way too much of my precious lunch hour digging up that first quote though, not worth it to find that last one I mentioned.

The truth hurts.

Yeah, my roommate treats it like a numbers game too and finds success (there's always a new girl around the house it seems). Thing is, he's also 6 feet tall with social skills, whereas I'm 5'6 and have thousands of posts on Patsfans, so I think there are also confounding variables at play.

I'm already a washed up, boring engineer at 23. Your story is still encouraging though. I wish I had interests that were remotely social...or interest in anything remotely social...

Thanks for rallying around me, guys. I'll probably continue to do nothing while complaining on the internet.

Glad to see #10 at practice.

Social skills aren't really my strong point, and I'm 5'8 on a good day, so I'm not too far off from your tragic predicament. Look, don't get too down on yourself. You don't have to attract everyone you meet, just the right person. Surely you have some interests or hobbies other than football. And if you don't, it's probably best for your long-term health (relationship or otherwise) that you develop some, anyway.

I'm not an expert, but you can always try to shake up your routine. Push yourself into new and potentially uncomfortable territory. Volunteer for a local kids mentoring program. Look for lectures or concerts in your local area. Sign up for a cooking class. Go to the gym. Take up boxing. Go on a wine tour. Join a cycling club. Visit a hydroponic farm. Become an amateur architecture photographer. Check out books from the library for subjects you're unfamiliar with -- don't look them up on Wikipedia, but actually be intentional about going out and picking up the books, and then reading them in a public place. Strike up a conversation with someone you meet along the way.

Or, you know, ignore the stranger on the Internet who doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm just spouting off ideas, not guaranteeing anything will work. Best of luck out there!

Oh, you're thinking of someone else. That wasn't Viper. See @Palm Beach Pats Fan's signature. And yeah, that guy recently came back as well.

You're a better man than I am. I would have bailed after she said she didn't like football. I feel bad for the poor pansy that decided to marry her.

Next steps for me, after Mrs. Rover spiked each one of those, was a long-term guaranteed no-cut contract.

"Sorry, but this is a 7-9 football team.

How was your time up in Jax this past weekend? The game sucked but hopefully you enjoyed yourself here otherwise.
