What is NFL network smoking?

NOVA CB (ClickBait).

Featuring 35.6 percent THC, this strain is an extremely potent, top-shelf, designer bud, which helps to pry luke warm hot takes out of the mentally challenged.

For people who dont want to click they think the Patriots offer the Broncos our 2 1sts and James White for number 5 where we take Baker Mayfield.
However Barkley is still on the board and they think Broncos reject the trade and take Barkley.

I think the Pats trade their entire draft for 2019 picks, except for the #23 which they use to select Jordan Richards younger brother.
As long as he replaces Jordan Richards that might work out.

So you saw that and thought what kinda bud are those dumbjetes smoking and instead of just dismissing it and shaking your head at falling for it in the first place you decided to see how many of us it would irritate? Alrighty then...the draft just can't get here soon enough.

It’s going to get worse. There’s more than a week left, and they’ll have to come up with even crazier ideas to keep things interesting between now and then.

What if they found a loophole that let them draft Jordan Richards (I mean the same exact human) again.

And why not? They jumped the shark a long time ago.

The next mock probably mentions a couple of extraterrestrials who are "rapidly moving up draft boards" due to the fact that they have four arms. This will be followed by an extensive discussion about whether or not they technically meet the college eligibility requirement, and then wild speculation about how much more likely they are to get called for holding.

Of course I would not do that trade, from the Patriots perspective, but that is probably a realistic estimate of what it would take to get into the top 5. Two number ones and other stuff, later picks or a really good player. Again, I wouldn't do it, but it is not a crazy proposal, given that they need to fill the airwaves with hours and hours and hours of speculation and hype for this draft

That's why I shared it.

The NFL's effort at fodder for the Bronco's and Pat's Message Boards and to provide the radio mediots something "really important" to talk over each other about..

I don't know if this started in the past, but I started noticing it being pretty common to include mock trades in the mock drafts this year. At their best, mock drafts can be fun to see who your team might get and prompt discussion. They are, however, kind of pointless because, aside from the first couple picks, they never come close to the real draft. There's always a surprise pick or a run on a position that no one ever predicts. To try to project hypothetical trades seems like a waste of time. If the NFLN predicted a hypothetical blockbuster trade between the Patriots and Broncos in their mock draft and then had the Broncos reject, then that's just insane.

I wouldn’t call it a waste of time. If it was some crazy, over the top ridiculous idea, sure.....waste of time. But, mock drafts, mock drafts with trades, rejecting trades etc is more like a simulation. Bill even admitted that he has his guys do it. Why wouldn’t you? If you want to be prepared, go at it and discuss every angle.

To give a realistic idea what it would take to get in the top 5.
I just did a mock draft where we traded down took Lamar Jackson in the middle of the second and to be safe I took Lauletta end of the fourth.
However there was another mock on the same site yesterday where Jackson went with the 1st Jets pick and Mayfield fell to our first round pick.

Lamar Jackson isn’t going on the 2nd. I’d be shocked if we didn’t need to trade to AT LEAST 15 to get him.

The top QB’s worth getting are

Darnold
Rosen
Allen
Mayfield
Jackson

The teams ahead of us that could use a QB are:

1Browns (definitely taking a QB)
2Giants (seems up in the air, but a 50/50)
3Jets (definitely taking a QB)
5Broncos (should take a QB but there’s a chance they are dumb)
12Bills (literally might trade up at this position for a QB)
16. Ravens

Giants could trade down but I can imagine they fall past 23 and if Jackson is on the board they are getting him. Ravens likely will. Bills certainly will if they didn’t draft a QB at 12 and he’s there by 22.

Our best move is to trade with the Cardinals or Packers at 13 or 14. And even then that’s taking a risk

Trade with San Fran we have a good relationship and they kind of owe us a discounted trade in my opinion.

Then why the "what are they smoking?" title, if you think it is a realistic scenario?
