Mccarron is a year older than JG. If JG were a possible successor whose contract prohibited it, Mccarron could be a cheaper version. I wouldn't spend much on him as a backup. But as a potential successor, if they like him and could sign him beyond 2 years it's possibly interesting. We aren't getting Josh Allen or someone like that in the draft, any draftee would be limited in some way.

I don't think he's coming here. But for those that wanted to keep JG even though it wasn't possible, this timeline has more of a shot (if the market isn't there like it was for JG). Allbright is a solid reporter but I agree there's probably too much of a QB market out there still. Remember the draft, though. 4 certain first rounds and probably 3 or so legit second rounders, some teams will happily wait for those.

False hope for the mccarron camp to get a multi year deal out of buffalo. I firmly believe the bills are packaging to move up for one of the top qbs in the draft and would only sign mccarron for 1 year until the rook is ready to take over in 2019. It’s either that or signing on as a backup somewhere.
