Marquis Hill and Adrian Klemm would like to be invited to the party.
As would Germy Cunnyham, Aaron Dropson & Cyrus the Virus Jones.

But I don't blame these craptastic stiffs as much as I blame the clueless, arrogant idiot who selected all of them.

Preach cap preach.

If you're going to judge BB on his greatest hits and misses, doing so in a vacuum is not the best approach. How did he do vs. other GMs? Is his hit/miss rate better? Worse?

Regards,
Chris

Didn’t Klemm start on one of the SB teams?
I dunno. According to Pro Football Reference, he started 10 games for the Pats over four years. Just my opinion, but if you're a 2nd rounder, you need to start more than 10 games.

I know I risk hijacking this thread and this is better suited for a draft type thread, but 1's should be day one starters, ever down players possible pro bowlers. 2's should be able to at least work into a starting role long term. I'm sure draftniks will torture me, and I am definitely not a draft savvy guy.

They've hit on 2's as well, Jimmy G, Gronk, Chung, Branch, Light. But it seems they have missed more than they've hit. Maybe my lack of draft knowledge is showing.

In the interest of clarity the intent of my post was not to call out Belichick as GM but to illustrate that far worse busts than Richards have happened. And there will be more of them, it's the nature of the draft. Also unlike the aforementioned players I wouldn't classify Richards as a bust, he may yet redeem himself.

Browner was responding to a story put out by a nobody, and that story has been denied, and has had no proof offered other than the claim itself.

umm, i don’t think that is true. he blew up at coaches and missed curfews and meetings. fairly certain this was all corroborated.

butler and his ego don’t need excuses

the kid turned down 7 mil per

he got welker’d

Can you share where the story came from and who has debunked it? Donte Stallworth is onboard with Browner about the curfew angle.

It's linked to right there in the story, actually, with the story noting it as the rumor:

Rumors circulated Monday that Butler was caught with weed while returning late to the team’s hotel in Minneapolis, and while none of those reports have been substantiated, that could be what Browner is referencing here.

Here's the rumor, from the link

A family friend who I trust, is well connected in law enforcement and was in Minny this week with local cops told me Butler missed curfew, got caught with weed when he came back late to hotel, and subsequently had a meltdown on coaches

It really wasn't corroborated. It was posted on twitter by an unverified poster. Butler came out and denied the rumors. The coach staff has always maintained it was a football decision.

i am sorry, but i believe people like jeff howe and a mike giardi over butler denying rumors. lastly, his crying during the anthem is damning. he knew he screwed up. bb protecting butler’s fa status has nothing to do with the truth.

also, the word “trust” was used over and over by people in the know. bb lost confidence in butler on top of the flu. also, word was that it became very difficult “managing” butler for games.

read between the lines a little...

bb doesn’t care about weed..i believe the weed thing but it was nowhere near the top of the list of issues

The two people that would know the most are Butler and the coaching staff and they both said it was strictly a football coaching decision. Nobody on the team has said anything like that.

Howe, Giarardi, Butler and everyone else were following up based off a post by that unverified account. So basically you are believing an unverified account over anybody credible.
