Malcolm Butler Mega Thread

That doesn't dispute the point I made of Belichick without Brady....

See now it just seems like your running away and trying to find another argument because you can't debate my points head on. It's kind of funny watching you squirm and get hostile like this.

No need to run away from anything, Belichick’s accomplishments make the case clear, pretending Brady is the only reason for them is so f.cking ignorant as to be far beyond stupid .

The argument hasn’t changed a bit, Belichick, like Brady, is the GOAT, and stupidity from ingrates like you doesn’t change that at all.

You didn't know it because it is a dumb take based on hindsight. Benching your 100M franchise for a second year player that had a good camp but has essentially no real game experience is stupid.

There was never serious discussion at the start of the season of playing Brady over Drew. All revisionist garbage that is being made with the benefit of hindsight.

And while this is a fair point that nobody would bench $100 milion dollar QB fo rthe back up even if the back up looked better with the benefit of hindsight.

It's also with the benefit of hindsight to claim Belichick is some genius for (with the hindsight of winning a Super Bowl with Brady) unloading a $100 million dollar contract for a QB who just won the Super Bowl and in one season pretty much exceeded most of the older QB's efficiency stats for most of the year. There was media debate, but it was a pretty easy call to go with Brady at that point.

Then care to explain why Belichick doesn't have a winning percentage without Brady and more than 1 playoff win without Brady?

He clearly needs Brady to some extent. I'm still of the mind that he's a great coach. It's just the nature of this sport dictates that no matter how great of a coach you are, you need a great QB, or you aren't accomplishing much. So the idea that Belichick's a one man show is illogical and misleading.

I think it was obvious that Chung was hurting during that game, and he was critical to their defensive game plan.

I think we all know Belichick is a great coach and Brady is a great player. They have both benefited from each other and we as fans are lucky to have both as coach and player. Can we leave it at that?

I go to bed for one night at this becomes a Belichick/Brady thread.

Unfortunately that’s hard to do with numerous poster’s trashing Belichick.

According to some beat writers when they saw DMac yesterday at Gilette he was walking pretty gingerly so he got banged up as well at some point.

As much as I think their defense played horribly on a Sunday night I don’t think it was for a lack of trying, they just played sh.tty.

and that was my point about BB ....... he had a bad day/week .... QB rating of 60

That’s completely on those claiming Belichick is only successful because of Brady.
It's a Lennon/McCartney argument. They are great on their own, even better together.

I promise I won't get sucked in to the debate.

I agree, hopefully that will stop now and we can get back on point.

Apart from being petty over what some entitled asshats consider BB stealing a SB from THEM I just dont understand the entire point of the discussion. You have two all time greats feeding off each other in different ways building something unique and great and instead of enjoying that those people rather argue about who is more important.

WHO GIVES A **** ? This is not a divorce proceeding. You don't have to choose between Mommy and Daddy. People, just ****ing enjoy the last few years of something that will not happen soon again.

That's what the media's reporting; personally I think Bill made his decision and was too prideful (as Hightower indicated) to change after this new strategy was tanking before his eyes. But what Butler did was immaterial. Short of Malcolm outright murdering someone, he should have played in this game.

Was a lot more than a curfew violation. Obviously.

Tom Brady the losing QB who played in his 8th Super Bowl actually had his best statistical Super Bowl performance of his career. If his defense was half competent the game should have been a blowout.

More specifically, if Bill had put in a defender--such as the one on the sideline--who could make even one stop on those 3rd and 4th downs, we'd have won.
