Malcolm Butler Mega Thread

I doubt he has lost the locker room or Brady. We'd be seeing signs of that in the postgame pressers.

Brady went from last year's "Hell No!" to retirement talk. to "We'll see" this year. And those two have not had a good year.

Anyway, I am just trying to make sense of it. I am very thankful to have a team that is always in it, just hope it stays that way.

Yep, he got disgruntled because he did not win Patriot of the Week award.

Benching Butler possibly had more ramifications than just the X’s and O’s. That decision right before kickoff could not have gone over well in the locker room.

At this level these guys are all tremendous athletes, what wins and loses games is mental toughness. Dropping a turd in the locker room right before the game doesn’t exactly bring the team together.

That’s what I was thinking and another poster said he was wiped out on a pick play so that would explain why Ertz was wide open.

The most damning statement in the article is that the Eagles expected everything the Pats' defense threw at them. That's what I thought. It was really a vanilla way to play and it wasn't really effective. Not playing Gilmore on Jeffrey in the first half was just an abomination.

Slightly different, the Eagles essentially put Foles in motion and did a direct snap to the RB. Great design, perfectly executed.

It was pretty much exactly the same play we used against the Eagles in the infamous Chip Kelley game 2015. Including the QB walking over to the edge of his OL and seemingly talking..

Brady would not be as successful without BB the same way BB would not be as successful without Brady. They feed off each other.

I don't see how that's true. There are plenty of playoff caliber teams who get bad and mediocre QBs into the playoffs.

I'd say BBs very luck to have the goat because his 4th quarter heroics won all but 1 Super Bowl, and got them to many others. If BBs teams were dragging Brady to the SB like the Broncos did for Manning and many other teams have done for bad to mediocre QBs I could see giving BB more credit. But they aren't. Brady has to be incredible in the 4th to win because the team around him is often mediocre.
