What do people think about him? I know a lot of you guys know o line far better than me. Sorta up and down rookie season but was a stud in college. Could give us some great depth if he pans out unless he can compete with Tuney and Shaq who has great seasons.

Also Ray Lewis killed a guy.

While I acknowledge that RL killed a guy, and that I was happy with the drafting of Jackson (mostly because of Stork's successful rookie season), I would be lying if I said I expect anything from Tre at this point.

Seems like he can't stay healthy. And others have passed him on the depth chart. Sometimes you hit, sometimes you miss. If Jackson ever gives NE anything - it'd be a bonus.

(Memba that time RL killed a guy ?)

Yeah. Nothing but ??? with Jackson at this point. It would be nice if he could somehow help with an OL re-org that shores up the pass protection at both the RG and Center positions, but the chances of that seem slim.

He is forgotten because he was beat out by better players and injured two consecutive seasons with the team.

He's a reserve at this point with the potential of being traded for a 7th Rd pick or with a bad preseason being cut

IIRC, Stephen Neal was injured his first two seasons and did okay. That's extremely rare, of course, but still ...

Jackson is a very young 3rd year player. He just turned 24 in December so I think he still has the ability to have a decent career as a fringe starter depth OL.

Hey good to see you around again bud, hope you are doing well.

IMO Thuney will definitely be the LG, I could see him competing with Mason & Karras for RG though. Mason will probably win. Solid depth atleast.

Jackson excelled at pass protection, if I remember correctly.

I am not sure what happened to Jackson's knee. It seemed that he was rehabbing for a full season, but as I recall, and am too lazy to look it up, he only had his knee scoped. When he played I thought he played better than Mason in passing situation, but Mason was a better run blocker.
I look forward to seeing him and Karras again this year, as both my show surprising improvement.

I didn't like him from day 1, but I hope he can turn it around. The guy came to us with knee issues and I don't think that magically goes away. So I honestly expect a rookie to push him off the roster.

This could very well be the case. His play two years ago was below average at best.

He really needs to go from jag to all pro quickly to stay on the roster,

I wasn't a fan of him coming out of college, so no expectations now.

He was a good technical lineman at Florida State under Rick Trickett (the Dante Scarnecchia of college football), but he didn't have any attributes that really popped out at you.

I just don't think he's really a NFL-caliber player - he's just not athletic enough for the pros. Not a problem at the college level, where he had a great career, but I don't see him making the 53 this year.
