And Brady is 40 and his performance will decline fast, blah blah blah. He also thinks the team should keep Garoppolo because he looks like he could take the reins from Tom and be successful.

Well at least for predictions like this...these guys can brag that they'll be right eventually.

I get why people make these predictions. TFB has defied logic and expectation, precisely because the logic and expectation is that, at 40, his days are numbered...with small numbers.

Doesn't bother me, really, to hear these things. I expect TFB to defy the odds yet again. Time will tell.

Brady can retire tomorrow and he'll still be the GOAT and he'll still be my all time favorite athlete. He has given me enough memories and unforgettable moments to last 2 lifetimes.

Everything from here on out is just relishing in his greatness, whether a year, two or five.

Right from the horses mouth is like a lucky charm so being a betting man my money is on 4 more.:D
Yes, and Shannon Sharp is a horse's ass so it's perfect symmetry!

It's kind of mean for me to say that, it's an insult to horse's asses everywhere to compare them to Shannon Sharpe!

Not exactly the most asinine comment. That's basically 42. Brady takes incredible care of himself, for sure, so I don't doubt he plays further. But that being said, anything can happen in two seasons and being older only amplifies the chance of a bad injury.

Serious question: did Peyton show hints of decline pre-injury?

They make these predictions because they want people to talk about the predictions they make.

Shannon Sharpe needs attention. I don't even mean that as an insult; what I mean is he has a sports talk show that he needs to draw ratings to. So what gets more ratings:

A discussion centered on "Carson Palmer has 2 years left" or
A discussion centered on "Tom Brady has 2 years left"

I knew it! I knew it!

I knew I would only feel stupider after opening the thread to see what S. Sharpe had to say.

File this under 'broken clock', he'll be right eventually, all he has to do is keep repeating as time goes by, yawn.

We should make a new rule. If you predict a Brady decline and have been wrong in the past you don't get to predict it again. You will just keep doing it till you are right and act like a know it all.

I will say now I predict 2021 will be his last year. I don't think he makes it to 45. Still that defies all logic of what the human body should do at that age.

His last good year will be 2020. He comes back for 2021 but just can't do it anymore at 44 years old. If I am wrong I could start the whole "next year is the last year" thing be right very soon but that is cheap. Pick a year and stay with it! :p

Also in the next 4 years which he will be really good he gets 2 more rings and breaks every record. The only that is close is yardage cause Brees just piles it on but Brees will be out of the league before Brady I am pretty sure. Just smaller and the hits hurt more and not on the regiment Brady is.

2 years left after the best year in his career?

Only if Brady decides to hang it up.

A quarterback losing his fastball can happen almost overnight. He'll still have the mental aspect of the game mastered but a split second difference in the ball getting there is the difference between a touchdown and a pick six. That said, Brady takes care of his body better than anyone in the league so that may not happen within a two year time period.

He was an ass when the Donkeys went against the Pats in 2015, but I mean that's his old team right? Makes sense. Beyond that, I don't pay enough attention to the media to know if he was critical of Brady beforehand.

At the end of 2014 he was beginning to tail off. I.E. watch his game in St. Louis that year, or the divioanal game vs. Indy.

Even if he loses a lot of his arm -- remember, he was successful as a dink-and-dunk checkdown quarterback for years before Moss got here and allowed him to air out his arm. If he has to go back to that style he's got good personnel for it. Get him a good powerful RB and you could easily get another 3, 4, 5 years, just running his game the same way you did when he was a rookie and hadn't proven his arm yet.
