Maybe and maybe not. I will revisit this later. IMO before this game Rice was the best NFL player IMO but I might rethink that.

I appreciate everyone's opinion and i certainly respect you for not wanting to be a prisoner of the moment. But, and again I want to make it clear that I respect you, but what the hell else is left? What would Brady need to do to justify it now? Like right this second? There are people in National media comparing this to what Jordan did in the modern era. They're having to go to other sports to find a peer at this point. I just don't see how he doesn't outright stand alone at this point. And they have a realistic chance to do it again. Man, this ride is awesome! Hope you don't think I'm attacking you, man.

Well spoiler alert I will probably conclude yes he is the GOAT of his entire sport but I wanna give it some due thought first. My instant impression if you want to know is that he is but I wanna take some time cause there are so many other great all time players.

The best qb ever is settled.

1 more championship ends this discussing.

However not for me. I already think he's the best. He's a few plays away from having 9 titles.

I respect that, Digital.

The whole "Best Player Ever" argument is a bit nebulous, IMO. First you have to agree on the terms of the discussion before you can decide on who wins. It's like saying, who was better, Walter Johnson or Ted Williams? How do you have that debate?

We may be burying the lede. Shannon Sharpe says Tom Brady is the best ever. Shannon Sharpe who HATES the Pats, stood up, and spoke CLEARLY??? What is happening? I saw Max Kellerman, Donovan McNabb and Screaming Steven Smith this morning passionately BRAG about how Tom Brady is the best ever, and the Pats are. What is going on?

Its almost as if all these athletes, are so struck by the sheer level of committment, dedication, and execution over 15 years, that they are no longer getting caught up in petty jealousy, and hatred, and instead are championing someone, who represents the best ideals and characteristics, of a sport, that they all played in, reported on, and love.

Remarkable.

Listening to Sharpe is so painful to my ears.

I watched that too but refused to post it on sheer principal.

I think what is happening is that these ex players and mediots are finally taking the old "if you cant beat em join em" position. First anyone who tries to debate stuff like this just comes across like a "Marshal Faulk" who is just a bitter muppet who everyone laughs at - including Kurt Warner. Everyone is sorta having thier Babe Ruth/Bill Rusell moment i.e it may be better to just accept facts, give TB and the Pats their due (cant fight the machine anymore) and tell their grandkids that they were in the Sports Biz or knew, or interviewd (or even played against) the GOAT NFL player and were there (on the field or in this sports biz) during thie miraculous run.

Think about it.. If you were in the biz right now you would have life long bragging rights that you were there while this was going in. Like Jordan and Gretzky who were universally loved it gets to a point when you are just in awe of a player just like many of us were with Joe Montana, or Gretz, etc. It was almost an honor to lose to these guys.

I think TB has finally won everyone over (who matters anyway) and its all about appreciation of his greatness and being in his presence VS petty debates like it was in just the few years past. Seriously when these guys tell the grandchildren that they were in this business years from now who do you think the kids are going to ask them about?

In other words eveyone is kissing the pats/TBs ass now.

The only player in the greatest discussion with Brady is Jim Brown. Jerry Rice cheated.
