Why at mile High again? anybody know whose an expert in how scheduling works?

Patriots are set to face in 2017:

Roethlisberger
Ryan
Newton
Rivers
Carr
Alex Smith
Jameis Winston

Gonna be a tough schedule with all these top-tier quarterbacks

On paper this does seem like a tough schedule, but we will see what happens. Can't wait for Brady to quiet the Coliseum. Brady vs. Brees will also be a very exciting matchup. Lastly, revenge time for the 2012 loss against Carolina.

BB builds his team with an eye towards the schedule. Expect him to do something to upgrade the #2 CB position and maybe DE pass rusher. They are facing a lot of good QBs next year.

Also he will build to beat Pitt and KC so I expect he will do something at DT (maybe just a godo 4th run stopping DT specialist and LB though their run D has been good.

The distance traveled is about the same to a crappy stadium in a horribly polluted foreign city at high altitude ... And as demonstrated down there this year (Raiders vs. Texans), MOST of the fans are Raider fans. The Pats would be better off playing in Oakland. This is just more Goodell crap to endure.

I dont think you can judge the fan split for our game based off that game. texans fans probably dont exist outside of Houston. of course itll be mostly raiders fans in that one.

If im playing a road game against another likely contender, i take a neutral site anyday. The other team also traveling and again we dont know the fan split but worst case its better than itd be in oakland.

Dear Chicken Littles,

there will be enough time to **** your pants during the offseason about the schedule, only to inevitably realize that some of the teams will regress, others will improve, players will get injured/suspended and everything will be different than most of us originally anticipated.

In short, it is way too early to assume anything about next year's schedule.

From the NFL site:

Every team plays six games against the other three teams in its division, facing off twice per season — once at home and once on the road.

The NFL's scheduling formula ensures that all teams will play every team from every division in the other conference once every four years.

The NFL’s scheduling formula ensures that all teams will play every team from every division in the other conference once every four years.

Every team plays one game against each of the four teams from a division within its conference — two games at home and two on the road. Which division a team plays is determined by a rotation system ensuring that the teams in one division will play the teams in every other division in its conference once every three years.

Every team plays one game against each of the four teams from a division in the other conference once per season — two games at home and two on the road. These matchups are also determined by a rotation, which ensures that all teams play every team from every division in the other conference once every four years.

Every team plays its remaining two games against teams from the two remaining divisions in its own conference — one game at home and the other on the road. The matchups are determined by where the teams finished in their divisions in the previous season. For example, a team that finished the previous year in third place in its division will play the third-place teams from the two

It's a tough schedule but hopefully we can already improve on a already good roster. Resign the key guys and who knows maybe add another key piece.

We have tons of cap room

Atleast half your list isn't top tier dude

Fair enough. I'll put it this way then: The list of QBs range from 'above average' (e.g. Ryan, Newton, Smith) to 'elite' QBs (e.g. Brees) who are either experienced veterans with big-game experience (e.g. Roethlisberger, Rivers) or are young and up-and-coming (Winston, Carr)

Pats will have their work cut out. Should be fun to watch though!

As of now, the Strength of Schedule for the 2017 is .533

Of course there's one game remaining for everyone, so it will change a bit.

This would qualify as the 7th hardest Schedule of the year, if it was played in 2016

Who cares.. we are on to Miami then on to the "tournament".

You all can listen to Felger et al whine for about 8 months about how doomed the Pats are for the 2017 season.. great talk show radio banter.

People put too much into schedules so much in advance. How many people this time last year thought the Broncos and panthers will be eliminated from the playoffs. And the raiders could be the #1/#2 seed?

Why are we playing in Denver again?

Also what a **** list to choose from for home games to attend.
It sucks about having to go to Denver again for the regular season, but they came here 3 years in a row in 12, 13 and 14.

Tough to judge the opponents now. Last year I was thinking the schedule was brutal thinking about @Denver, @Pittsburgh, @Arizona, Seattle and Baltimore.

I was going to write the same post. With so much cash available for NE, I wonder if Bill will rent a solid CB or look to the draft. Either way, NE will be playing several pass first offenses unlike this year and, as you say, BB builds according to the schedule.

Also he will build to beat Pitt and KC so I expect he will do something at DT (maybe just a godo 4th run stopping DT specialist and LB though their run D has been good.

Regarding the interior D line, has their been a player grouping that has gotten less press likely because the interior D line has been their most consistent/least worrisome group on the roster. Top 3 rushing defense yards/TDs.

At least playing in Mexico should acclimate players for the Denver game since MC is >2,000' higher than Denver.
