The Proven Performance Escalator applies to players drafted in the third to seventh rounds. It raises the fourth-year salary to the lowest tender amount for players who:

(1) Average 35% of O or D snaps over their first three seasons, or
(2) Reach 35% of O or D snaps in two of their first three seasons.

Joe Thuney so far has played 100%* of O snaps in the first eight weeks. Barring a remarkable jump in tempo the last eight weeks, Thuney will reach the 35% plateau this season.

*Football Outsiders says he's missed one, Pats Pulpit says none.

By comparison, BTW, Elandon Roberts is at ~25% so far. He'll need to play roughly 45% or more going forward to reach that plateau.

Thuney = Mankins 2.0?

Still some things he can do better...

He did get pushed back a bit, but Develin didn't help much with the trip. . Of course Thuney is the who helped that play collapse, and make Develin fall
