OT: Saw a post on NFL.com - an old friend is still at the negativity

I met the legend once at the Pats fan club in Phoenix.

Last I heard from him was he was asking for money as he had some serious life threatening illness..

He seems to have discovered facebook as well..

Our buddy NEM. Mr. Negativity. The Black Hole of Internet message boards. Sucks all the life out of the room and all the air from your lungs. Major-league buzzkill. Meh.

Maybe I'm confusing him for another member but was he the guy who would post a pregame prayer for every Pats game? In any case, bless the old man, negativity and all. Wrong as he may be about Butler, he's still a Pats fan like the rest of us.

NEM was the only poster here who I ever put on "ignore". I don't mind critical posts when they're well thought out and the poster supports them with facts/examples. Even if I disagree, that's a part of debate that's important.

But, NEM....... he seemed to always be looking at negativity in his rear view mirror.

I met NEM at the Vine in Feb 2008. He's not a bad human being. Just an annoying fan, IMO.

I'm glad he's still alive and infuriating people.

He's evolved.

Now he's writing ridiculous things about DEFENSE.

Zampese, Weis, McDaniels - it didn't matter, the solution he always professed was slants and in cuts (oh, and replacing the OC). That's it, his offensive solution to every call was those two things.

He personally destroyed the old AOL Patriots forum and the follow on Yahoo one through his negativity and "I'm always right" campaign against any post that didn't kowtow to him. People just stopped posting.

I don't wish ill on the guy, but I'm glad he isn't here. We have enough the 'sky is falling, they'll never win another game' posters on the game day threads already.

Oh boy!

I used to think that he was a harmless old coot who just found it hard to put a cap on his enthusiasm. Then he would do something that even Ian couldn't tolerate. He's definitely got a destructive streak in there -- but I'm glad he's still more-or-less functional.

...he's still a Pats fan like the rest of us.

He is no doubt still a Pats fan, but those who remember his days on this board (I was new to the board at the time) would say that he is not "like the rest of us." I hope he is well, as I never wished him ill...he just ruined so many threads that it cast a pall over things.

This Board will always have its contrarians (and welcome them) and even some who are habitually rude, but, those who are allowed to remain are those who recognize the line between constructive and destructive commentary...

I guess making the Pro Bowl means many people disagree? Lol

Anyhow, it's great to see that he's alive and kicking. He's not the youngest.

I believe little cornerbacks were also a target, such as Hobbs. This is hilarious.

He threatened to kick people's asses.
Didn't he return as Wife of NEM at some polnt or was that at KFFL?
Pretty much got run off every message board he was on.

It was simultaneously comical and sad to watch him implode.
You knew it was only a matter of time before he got the axe.

That's a walk down memory lane.
Who here remembers the old format with the expandable threads?
