I was looking at the last 8 weeks of the Pats schedule and I was taken aback by it. In all likelihood, the Pats will not have to worry about any of their games being flexed to later in the evening. If anything, their games could get bumped to earlier.

11/18/07 @ Buffalo 1PM
11/25/07 vs. Philadelphia 8:15 PM
12/03/08 @ Baltimore 8:30 (Monday Night)
12/09/07 vs. Pittsburgh 1PM
12/16/07 vs. Jets 1 PM
12/23/07 vs. Dolphins 1PM
12/29/07 @ Giants 8:15 PM

I honestly don't see the Steelers, Bills, Jets or Phins games getting pushed to later. The Baltimore game is Monday night. The only game that might get bumped to EARLIER is the Philly game, if Philly is doing poorly. And the Giants game is a Saturday.

This should work in the Pats favor.

I agree with you. Unless the Steelers exceed expectations, I don't think the other games will warrant it.

You really have to look at the week by week schedule for the league. For example, Pats Jets may not seem that great, but what are the other possible games that weekend? Also, the networks get to "protect" games from being bumped to Sunday night, so sometimes the second best game that weekend is the bumped up game. I seem to remember a big Indy or maybe a SD game staying at 4pm last year due to that.

Working backwards:
12/29/07 @ Giants 8:15 PM - cannot be moved, this is a Saturday game.
12/23/07 Mia @ NE - Philly at NO looks like the best game to me that weekend, Baltimore at Seattle could be the second best.
12/16/07 Jets @ Pats - I think Jets @ Pats is the best Sunday game this weekend. Philly @ Dallas is probably the second best. These are both playoff teams from last year, and all the other top teams are all playing creampuffs or are in non-moveable game slots that weekend. Maybe Seattle at Carolina, or Jax - Pittsburgh? Not the best week for matchups so watch for a move this week.
12/09/07 - Indy at Baltimore should hold up (it's the slotted Sunday night game right now). Hard to see either team sucking so bad that they'd switch to some other game - former SB champ against former #2 seed?
12/03/07 NE @ BAL - can't be moved, already a Monday night game.
11/25/07 Philly @ NE - already IS the sunday night game. Could it be bumped down to 1 or 4? Hopefully we're still the draw, so ONLY if Philly is totally in the tank at that point! Even if the case, Baltimore at SD is a good one to watch, but it could be protected. Next to that, Tenn - Cincy is probably the top game, could happen I suppose, but not likely.
11/18/07 NE @ Buff - probably safe barring a sudden Buffalo surge. Chicago Seattle is in the slot now, Pittsburgh Jets is that weekend, also a KC Indy playoff rematch.

So in summary, I see ONE game moving up*, ONE already there not likely to move down. Totals would then be:

1pm - 3 Away, 4 Home*
4pm - 2 Away, 1 Home

Sunday Night - 3 Home*
Monday Night - 2 Away
Thursday Night - 0
Saturday Night - 1 Away

I think the Dolphins game on the 23rd of December has a chance...

Oh wait, I thought I was Aqua for a second there

There are always surprises, both positive and negative... no one expected the Jets to make the play-offs last year. Of those four teams ("Steelers, Bills, Jets or Phins"), it's likely that at least one of those teams will have a good season, filling in the void of one of those teams expected to do well but fall apart by that time of the season.

Jets vs. Pats,Not only should it be a good game, but the # 1 tv market(NY) comes with it.So that might switch.

if I were a betting man......which I am I would say that I could see the jets and steelers games being bumped up to 8:15
