So, I remember a few years back that there was a controversy about what coaches could wear during public NYJFL events. Coaches had to wear league approved/licensed gear or get special approval from the league.

The shirts that the Pats coaches wore yesterday are not officially licensed NFL gear. Do you all think that the Patriots got approval ahead of time? Or do you think the league is going to fine them?

Personally, I can see the league fining them despite the message it sends..

Yes, I'm sure they did. Ever since Spygate the Pats have been following the rules to the letter and not even going close to the line. That's why Deflategate caught them off guard.

the league will do what it does and right now, nobody can stop it........I'd say a fine is a better than 50/50 probability

though I do think in their world of bizarre logic, the league will punish the crap out of other teams now in order to display the appearance of 'equality'

I just put myself in that spot with the notion of being rational enough to understand that the power is not infinite so that at some point, a spin needs to be deployed......in the form of maximum fines across the board for discipline.......next up Aqib Talib and Lane Johnson

All of you who think the mouth-breathing knuckle-dragging oxygen thieves in the other fanbases will suddenly see it our way are dreaming.

"I can't believe they're suspending *insert player here*!! I mean, there was a mountain of evidence on Brady and the cheatriots, so I get that, but THIS???"

The Hatriots have been out even with this Ebner story. "What? They let that CHEATER on the rugby team? I'm not rooting for them anymore".

I think a 10 game suspension is impending, personally.

Of course Ebner should be suspended. He must have been at least generally aware the coaches would wear his jersey!

The one redeeming feature of Bill Belichick is his blatant disregard for authority and the media. In his own way, he's constantly sticking it to the pricks. I love it.

I didn't want to start a new thread, so I am posting this here as it is tangentially related. I was torturing myself watching the Yankees-Red Sox game where the Sox gave away a game they should have won handily.

Anyway, it was on ESPN, and at the bottom of the 8th inning they showed a fan wearing a jersey with the words "Goodell is a douche"

That was pretty cool.

The ONE redeeming feature? Really? You can't think of any others?

I'm sure they got permission.

Nope, that's basically it.

Either way, he does it so well.
If he ever writes a book, I hope there's an instructional chapter called "How to Stick It To The Man" and details all the stuff he ever did or considered doing just to mess with them.

BB's disdain for wearing the properly branded clothes on the sidelines is well known, that is why he chops off the sleeves or wears old stuff...

It would be difficult to go after BB and staff if they were promoting America and the US Olympic Rugby Team..

But this is in their collective memory and when BB and staff commit the slightest Faux Pas, the Park Ave. folks will be here en mass to administer justice...
