Players needing to step up against the Eagles.

I think we need to see a big improvement this week on the O line. If Brady has time against the Eagles, with their horrible secondary, we should be able to move up and down the field.

This is going to be a terrible dog fight. The Eagles are beat up and being question as men. The Pats represent the highest challenge. They will be up for this game and if the Pats come in flat, this could be a long night.

Should be a close game again ad they've all been sans all of Brady's weapons...

I apologize ahead of time as I take my son to tomorrow's game. He's 10 & this'll be his first game. I wanted him to see Brady live before he retires. His record at live games is terrible. I've taken him to about 10-12 games to date - combo of Celtics, Red Sox, NU hoops (my alma mater), Revs...he's seen ONE win(Revs)...sorry in advance

I don't think McCourty has had a particularly bad game, there's just a few uncharacteristic bonehead plays this year. Yeah, that blunder on the OBJ TD stands out, but I thought his trotting by a fumble (Pit?) earlier in the season was just as bad.
The Giants game was his worst game by far. Even taking out the OBJ play, he was also late coming over to help on a few passes downfield as well. Other than that, he's been great.

What from the last two eagles games indicates they will be up for this game? They followed up a 45-17 home loss with a 45-14 loss against the lions.

And now they are playing a team pissed off because of the screw job last Sunday.

Chandler is what he is and that's not going to be enough of an upside - ditto with Bolden. Key Martin and James white are the two guys with the opportunity to click into high gear and really make a difference. I expect Martin to get a ton of reps again but hopefully will make some more plays.

Well then your son will enjoy the win. I expect at least a two score victory for the Pats.

I don't think you predict who is going to step up since we don't know how the defense will play us. La Fell, chandler and Blount might get a lot more attention than usual, due to other offensive weapons being gone. I like Martin and, sight unseen, wouldn't be surprised if Johnson, having 31 catches at Patriots south last year, might get the call and loosen up the D.

Targeting only LaFell and Chandler and Blount up the middle is a recipe for disaster IMO. None is a game breaker like Gronk or even
Amendola.

Let's see what imitation Dion Lewis can do also. Why wait? We need to know and it's a beatable team.

I'd like to see them use Bolden now, he could get some things done and has a big play behind him now.

Also, I'd like to see some "sink or swim" from the PS CBs. We're really challenging fate with two CBs. If no one, including Melvin, can be trusted with any snaps, what happens if, gawd forbid, there's an injury? are we going to play 4-5 safeties at a time?

I'm going to disagree with you regarding upside with James White vs Brandon Bolden.

I think Bolden has more upside than White, certainly as an all purpose back as I think Bolden could get you tough yards in lieu of Blount, if necessary, and is a decent receiver.

Maybe it's just my extremely low opinion of White coloring my viewpoint.

Because the Eagles are wacky. They can look good at times or crappy. My hope is that they play crappy but that last loss really had people questioning their manhood.

In my opinion, the offense had its struggles last week but also showed hints of being big play potential. There was that long pass to Bolden that resulted in a touchdown, and also that deep play to Martin that would've been the dagger if not for crooked refs. If Chandler can catch a few more and drop a few less, he's probably okay as a Gronk replacement for a few games. If Amendola is back, I think that helps a lot too.

I doubt Trey Williams will be active with such little time to pick up any of the offense, but would like to see what he's got sometime soon. Though I kind of like what Bolden has been giving us lately.

Rest assure that your son's presence and the outcome of the game are statistically independent, meaning Pats will win and your son will enjoy the game.

I hear you that I might be a bit harsh on Bolden. I like Bolden. He probably deserved the game ball last week against Denver, and he is a true belichick player with his 4 down versatility.

But how has Belichick used him year after year? As a servicable backup. Often Put into service after an injury or a fumble to a starting back. He is similar to the law firm in that he has starter potential but there's really not a lot of upside there in my opinion. Maybe Bolden will win out over White for reps this season, but we know what we have in Bolden and White remains more of a mystery which makes him more intriguing.

Your low opinion of White might also be shared by Brady and the coaching staff as it is looking like Bolden is getting more opportunities than White.

If the Pats were playing anywhere on the road tomorrow, they would lose.

If they were playing almost anybody at home tomorrow besides Philly, they would lose.

At home vs a ready-to-mutiny Eagles = best-case scenario for this decrepit, impotent, offensive offense.

The suggestion that anyone who will dress tomorrow, besides TFB & Amendola, is even capable of "stepping up" is laughable.

We're going to have to agree to disagree..
