Slater literally suffers some kind of injury every single game. He's probably less healthy than Martin at this point. Martin has been on the shelf for a while. Time to turn him loose on Sunday night.

As far as I'm concerned, it's good news that Amendola's out. I was rooting for that.

Putting him out there would appreciably imperil our Championship Chances.

He could easily exacerbate that Injury and be lost for the rest of the Year.

I still expect to win, but I always put the Season before one Game.

OTG sums it up pretty well. I was also worried about DA going out there without the benefit of full/extra healing time. With 10 wins in the bank, 3 virtual-layup games left in our schedule. both of our main rivals already with 2 losses and a game against each other on tap, this means as of now each regular season game remaining is not anywhere near as important as the single elimination games we will play starting mid January.

I know this takes on a homer type thinking, however, a few 'grit it out' games the Patriots have recently played probably are a good thing. The whole first half of the season the Patriots did not have to grit it out once. Except for a couple of teams who scratched their way to a hail mary type long shot, the Patriots had not been tested for a full 4 quarters. IMHO you don't want that going into the playoffs not having to face adversity and overcome things not clicking. Sure, you want a team that can annihilate the competition, however, you also want a team that can grit out an ugly win when what normally works isn't working. Bottom line: povided we end up with a Bye and ideally HFA (meaning we win most of the grit it out games), facing some situations that require the Patriots to adjust, adapt, mix personnel, overcome adversity, reach down deep for the win makes us stronger in the Playoffs(assuming we get back to near full strength with the OL and WR spot).

With the Patriots missing over half their normal receiver production from just a couple of games ago along with a patchwork OL, if they can grit this win out (assuming it even needs gritting out) on the road against a tough 8 win Denver team?? This will be one loud and flashy statement on how the Patriots are in a class by themselves on how tough to beat they are. Put another way, if the Patriots can come into one of the toughest places to play against one of the best teams in the NFL and beat them with so much important personnel missing on offense?? What AFC team is going to think they can beat a nearly full strength Patriots team in Foxboro? Ahem, ya, good luck on that one to Cincy, Denver, Pitt, (fill in team name here).

Yeah! That's the spirit! I like that a lot more than the posts already conceding a loss, before the Pats' plane even lands in Denver. There is no reason this team cannot win this game. Brady will have to play well, but we know he can do that. He has led lesser talented teams than this one to victory over better teams than the one they'll face this week in Denver. So let's get off the doom and gloom thread and start some positive thinking. Like the Straggler said^

gronk needs 100 yards. 2-3 catches won't cut it against that defense.

Oh I think Gronk will get his targets. Aside from LaFell there isn't anyone else who is proven to be a reliable or consistent target with what we've got going into Sunday.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Brady trying to force the ball to Gronk if things get frustrating offensively. Hopefully it works out enough to scrape a win together.

Well look at this picture from Michael Hurley that Rich Hill retweeted. Even in a game when Gronk was shut down there were plays to be made. If the OL gives Brady time this is a HUGE gain, perhaps a 50 yard TD.

Don't think we can ignore Ware being out, should give our OL an advantage. Mathis is also out. Our DL should be able to put pressure on Brock.

We still have plenty of guys that can catch the ball. Unless we don't trust Brady, we should be fine. Just need to survive 1st half with <TD difference, either way. BB, JM, and MP will out coach the Denver staff in the 2nd half.

Maybe if Wade Philips becomes Rex Ryan overnight.

That game was the usual 1 game a year (sometimes 2) where Rex comes up with a gameplan that the OL has a tough time and the offense struggles a bit.
