And we still have Brandon LaFell coming back...

I wasn't the one calling for a second year jump but now that you've asked the question, just building upon the way he finished last year would be great. I know its gonna take work jus to get to where he was in the super bowl but theres time still to do it.
Gotcha.

Yea it'll take a couple of games for him to get into "football shape" but I expect him to pick up where he left off last year.

just picked him up for my fantasy team

He contributed when it counted last year.

What kind of "jump" are you hoping for?

I'm not denying that or complaining in any way, that's why I said "2nd year jump" between quotes. We usually use this term for rookies going to their 2nd years, but since NE run a complex offense and Laffel already mastered the playbook in year 1, I think we could expect that he was only going to get better and be a difficult match up for any CB. Now coming back from a foot injury that might present a bit of a setback.

As for the Moss comparison I agree with your take, considering the Patriots offense if he can work some 20/25 yard routes that's almost a deep ball in this system.

Would love to see Brady throw the back shoulder and slant to a WR not named Gronk! LaFell should be even more comfortable with the Playbook being off so long now he just have to do the things on the Field.

If LaFell is 100% coming off last year I think his transition should be a easy one he's a vet WR still in his late prime Playing with the GOAT!

Chandler is more of a backup to Gronk. Williams jumped over Chandler on the depth chart only because his blocking is outstanding (it's all he has). If something happens to Gronk, we have solid insurance.

just strange that chandler put up OK numbers with the bills yet can't contribute on our team...
same thing happened to tim wright last year. bill wants to use the two TE system but can't find the right number 2...we had the perfect guy until he started killing people.

LaFell will be a huge addition, the Patriots offense needs him on the field for the second half of the season. Especially against the Broncos defense.

I didn't take your post as such that you were complaining but having lofty expectations that might be unrealistic in this offense and his already having excellent historical production.

Sick average of 18.8 average for the Big Guy though!

LaFell returning to the lineup will be like Branch returning in mid 2004. We'll quickly remember how good he is, and how much he brings to the table. The gap between LaFell and Dropson is a massive chasm.
At this point I think it's about the drop between Lafell and keshawn martin. I would have been surprised if Dobson was released at the return of lafell previously. Not so much anymore.

The more I think about it, the more I think he won't be outright released. I could absolutely see him catching a brutal case of the Foxboro Flu, which would put him on IR for the rest of the year though.

I think the Coaching staff likes K. Martin alot and he has caught and not juggled every pass Brady has thrown to him. I am with mikey m when LaFell gets cleared Dobson is not so much a lock anymore.

They are going to try to trade him to a receiver-needy team first for a conditional pick.

HOU?

I've completely given up on Dobson at this point. I expect him to be released soon. My comment about the gap between LaFell and Dobson was made because Dobson has been featured more so far this year. Clearly Keshawn is now in the mix though, and IMO he will last here longer than Droppy.
