thks a lot ! Nice to see C.James, Tippett, Hannah, Eason

other 'old NE Patriots 'videos' from the past ?

Squish the fish!

Had to say it.

Can you imagine if this team had John Hannah opening up holes on the left side? He was the best OL iI ever watched play...and he was past his prime in 85

No the song went something like this
New England The Patriots and me thanks for football in January.

Exactly! I wish I could find that song...it had all the only Boston news anchor people, celebrities, etc. Good show for back in the day!

I have old VCR tapes of that entire run...time to break them out over this raw, rainy weekend - I think I have the song on there...will get back to you all.

I haven't watched them in years.

This was the playoff run that cemented me as a Patriots fan till the grave. I'll never forget running upstairs screaming in my bro-in-laws face that his beloved dolphins had lost.

i agree - what a run it was...

it as the first moment of real success - i was excited

and, at that times, only able to read and not see...

i saw only the Super Bowl (sigh...)

Fgssand: you should send me too the VCR of the games... (just jocking)

Great memories, although I was waiting for Ray Clayborn's interception and was disappointed not to see that.

But great to see Craig James, John Hannah, Brian Holloway and a whole load of other old names.

You look at Eason's two TD passes the way he moved around and threw on the run making great plays, and you regret that he could never really fulfil the talent he had.

Damn! But the Bears were good!

I was at the game in Miami. Could not hear yourself think in that Organge Bowl. Amazing!

Before the game, I roughed up somebody trying to grab a "Squish the Fish" banner my buddy and I were carrying, but the Phin fans were mostly very cool overall.

It was a great time.

Travelled to N.O. for the Super Bowl, but not everybody wanted to pay scalper prices down there, so we didn't get into the game (thank God, I guess).

Great times!

Do you guys remember all the back and forth jawing going on with the Jets and then the Raiders?

Didn't Al Davis get into it...and maybe Howie Long? (I was only 9 years old and can't remember so well...but THAT was when I started watching football -during that run).

I feel like I appreciate and enjoy the Pats and Red Sox so much more because the Celts and B's were good when I was a kid...I just expected them to win and now can't get over how frustrating they are. If you'd have told me in 1987 that the Pats would be the toast of the town and the Celtics the doormats...I'd would've called you crazy. Funny how all that turned out!

i have all the playoff games from that year on tape in the old beta format.i have a sony beta machine that still works if you can believe it.

So I'm thinking what is a beta machine. From the pictures I found that is one odd looking thing.

pity that Tony Eason had only 2 very good seasons

i agree - the talent he had was huge

if i remember well he had 1 fantastic season

This was the playoff run that cemented me as a Patriots fan till the grave.

It was quite a three game playoff road trip:

Game 1 Knock off divisional rival Jets who had cheap shotted and injured Steve Grogan earlier in the season at the Meadowlands.

Game 2 Beat the hated Raiders who had won the '76 controversial playoff game and also ended Darryl Stingley's career.

Game 3 Finally won in the Orange Bowl after losing a close game late in the season there and had lost nearly 20 straight time in MIA.

Sad note - near the end of the video there is a joyous Pats fan saying " Bring on the Bears ". Ouch!
